"Kill Teen Angst single launch"

Being their single launch, Kill Teen Angst suitably outshone all that came before. They may look exactly the same as last time you saw them - Scott's cap pulled pver his eyes so only his mouth's visable, JD-shirt clad Brenton, topless Dayvid, but I'm yet to see a show of theirs that I haven't thought to be their best yet. There was an enthused reaction from the audience as Scott led the band through a set of crowd favourites. Small Town Small Children featured later in the set, along with a couple of new tracks, assumingly off the coming LP. If the single and performance and indicative of what's to come then the four-piece are headed for much larger things.

Bio

Splitting influences from the early 90s iconic Aussie groundbreakers such as GOD, Bored! & early Magic Dirt to the likes of post grunge US indie rockers Built To Spill and Archers of Loaf and the iconic Dinosaur Jnr, Kill Teen Angst write and play urgent and compelling alt rock.

‘Gen Y’ typifies KTA’s ability to mix memorable harmonies with a sonic wall of guitars underpinning lyrics that reflect an isolationist view of the World - likely born from the bands Perth upbringing. This depth and musical accomplishment coupled with vocalist Scott Tomlinson’s unique vocal tone and style combine to herald a fresh and most welcome addition to the local rock scene.

‘Gen Y’ is the first taste of KTA’s forthcoming debut album ‘No Walls In The Sky’ and follows from the bands last commercial outing – a self-titled EP released in 2008. That EP spawned the indie hit ‘The World or Nothing’, a triple j fave and voted that year’s WAMI Song of the Year.

In the last few months KTA have ramped up their touring beginning with a Big Day Out performance as well as playing gigs with the likes of Shihad, Regular John, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Biffy Clyro, and have just been announced as part of February 2010s Laneway Festival line up.

‘Gen Y’ will be released as a digital only EP through Itunes early next year.
