IAE: In your opinion what do you think turns people away from Christian music?
KC: A lot of people feel that Christians are too judgmental, so anytime they hear the word “Christian” or “gospel” they automatically frown up and plug
their ears. Also, they think all Christian music is poorly produced, but many of their favorite secular artists get their music from producers who came from
the church and even the artists themselves started there (i.e. Katy Perry, Beyonce, etc.). So to assume that all Christian music is wack is crazy. But we
as Christian artists have to make music that people want to hear also. We can’t expect for someone to want to listen to our music when it’s not
comparable to what they’re hearing in mainstream outlets. So we have to make hot music and still deliver real life messages that are planted in our
salvation in Christ. But there are those “religious” people in the church who are totally against making music that is comparable to mainstream music. But
I know, based on scripture that God uses all of us in whatever unconventional ways He deems necessary in order to reach the lost. Isn’t that the main
objective? It shouldn’t matter what the packaging looks like as long as souls are saved. - I Am Entertainment Magazine
