Bio
In 2011, Kimbara began as a trio in Los Cabos, Mexico. Combining distinct individual styles and diverse musical influences, Roberto Salazar (acoustic guitar/vocals), Jesus Labastida (percussion) and Hector Eder Ojeda (acoustic and electric guitar) immediately wowed audiences, gaining instant popularity. The trio soon became a quartet with the addition of Roberto Carrasco (bass guitar).
KIMBARA delivers fresh and engaging rhythms combining rumba flamenco, bossa nova, salsa, Latin beats, Latin jazz, Mexican music, and electronic highlights, giving their performances irresistible energy ,moving audiences to dance the night away. KIMBARA’s original compositions juxtapose modern and ancient sounds with a dynamite fusion of acoustic and electric guitars and Pre-Columbian percussion.
KIMBARA recorded its first self-titled album at the First Festival of Meat and Wine in Cabo San Lucas, including covers of well known Latin hits by acclaimed artists. KIMBARA has performed at hotels, resorts and private events in Los Cabos, Mexico’s premier resort destination; and in La Paz, the State capital. Kimbara is the house band for the Baja Brewing Company, and Casa de Bar Esquina at the Bahia Hotel in Cabo San Lucas.
