Bio
During the past 12 months, Kimberley Bowden has had great delight co-writing songs with
some of Australias finest songwriters. Felicity Urquhart, 2009 Golden Guitar finalist Sam
Hawksley, Jay Collie (Jonahs Road) and Jasper Somerville-Collie all co-wrote tracks on the
debut EP from the bright new talent.
It was recorded with producer Matt Fell (Sara Storer / Jonahs Road) at his Love Hz studio in
Sydney in 2008.
Kimberley worked solidly for several years to develop her talent before releasing her first EP.
Since graduating from the celebrated Camerata College in 2004, Kimberley has performed at
festivals nationally, including the QUT Urban Country Music Festival, further developing her
on stage performance skills.
Hailing from North Queensland, Kimberley Bowden was one of the first artists to volunteer
her time to perform at benefit concerts after Cyclone Larry hit the tropical north in March
2006. The destructive cyclone destroyed numerous homes in the North Queensland
communities, including Kimberleys own home where she lived at the time. She performed
at concerts in both Innisfail and Cairns, alongside Graeme Connors, Lee Kernaghan, Sara
Storer and John Williamson.
Before starting on the venture of creating her first release, Kimberley was honoured to be
one of the 6 grand finalists for Toyota Star Maker 2008.
Now, 12 months down the track, during the Tamworth Country Music Festival 2009, her
self-titled EP will be released to retail.
