"Who is Kimberly Bon?"

Who is Kimberly Bon?

An original power rock n' roll band. Take a splash of "Etheridge", a hint of "Joplin" add to it a style all their own....bringing you the intoxicating passion that is Kimberly Bon.

Powerful, tight, intense, emotional, dynamic, amazing are just some of the adjectives that have been used to describe the band that is Kimberly Bon. ” The lyrics and the music must compliment one another when telling a story”.

Five unique musicians all bring something to the table. Chris Bickley covering the amazing lead and rhythm guitars, in addition to his background vocals. Mike Barz, the creator of the power and passion on drums. Guillermo Mager bringing the bass to life and the sultry background vocals of Nina Lawless Then there is Kimberly Bon, the lyric and melody writer of the band. Kimberly is the vocals that lead the band, giving the band its signature sound. “Knowing when to lay the power down and when to draw it back, creating the perfect dynamics for each song we perform”.

Kimberly Bon has been fronting bands for approximately 15 years. Her vocals have been compared to Joplin, Heart, Slick and Benetar. Whether it’s opening up for the Beach Boys or Patty Smyth, lighting up the stage at Foxwoods Casino or performing at the many festivals (i.e Trumbull Art Festival, Trumbull Day, Savin Rock Festival, Music in Wolfe Park), the band always leave the audience wanting more. Opening up the Special Olympics with the National Anthem was a very emotional day for Kimberly, who has a son and daughter who participate in the Olympics. The band has been asked on several occasions to perform for charities, which they happily do (i.e. Lupus foundation, The Caroline house, LOVE146)

The Kimberly Bon Band has won the Unisong Certificate of Achievement for their song “Nothing Like Me, coming in 20th in the world, at the International Songwriting Competition in 2007. Their song “Young & Playful” was used for the CBS television show, “Wish You Were Here”. Recently they performed songs from their 2008 CD release “Kimberly Bon: Nothing Like Me” on the television talk show, Better, CT with Scot Haney.

In addition to performing with the band, Kimberly also writes a series of books for children entitled “Mitchie’s Amazing Adventures”. The books can be found in Barnes & Noble, Borders Books, Waldenbooks and online at all the .com outlets. Kimberly has won the Editor’s Choice Award for her poetry and is a published poet.

Chris Bickley, Mike Barz, Nina Lawless and Kimberly also have recorded on another project with Ed Daniels called, Vintage. A soft rock/blues and brass type of band that is geared to the 40+ crowd. Kimberly has written the lyrics for this project and can be seen performing the title song “Let’s Talk” on Utube. Looking for the softer sides, Vintage is the band.

"Trumbull woman publishes first children's book"

Singer/songwriter Kimberly Bon of Trumbull has written several song about her two daughters, but not one for her son, Mitch. Unable to pen lyrics that are not "too mushy" for her rock n' roll style, Bon instead wrote a book, with the 9 -year old as the title character.

"I wrote it in two hours", she said. "I told him if he went to bed now, I would have the book done in the morning. I write music the same way".

"Mitchie's Amazing Adventures: The Trip to Saturn" is about a how a young boy's terrible day takes a more positive turn upon discovering "Zing" under his bed. Together they embark on a journey that teaches Mitchie about Saturn, self-esteem and friendship.

Initially self-published through AuthorHouse, Scholastic has expressed interest in having Bon write four more Mitchie's Amazing Adventure books to be offered through their Weekly Reader program. The next book will follow Mitchie as he visits the remaining planets on his way to say good-bye to Pluto, which is no longer considered a planet. Now Bon is ready to take her characters on a new adventure in the subsequent books, which again will be illustrated by her friend and neighbor, Jo-Ann Codovius. Also a mainstay in any upcoming stories is Zing, designed by Bon's oldest daughter, Cas, who died last January at the age of 23 of an injury sustained in a car accident. Bon is now raising her grand-daughter JonnaMonet age 3 in addition to her son Mitch, who is Autistic and her daughter Johanna, age 13 with Down Syndrome. Kimberly Bon continues to live in Trumbull Ct with her children and husband.
