"Atlanta is really cookin!"

Atlanta is really cookin! Kimberly has an exceptionally clear voice, highlighted by the brilliant production with great definition of her voice and the live instruments. 'Unity' is a strong organic dancer with positive lyrics feat trumpeter Russell Gunn (also on other tracks), 'Music (got me high)' is a more up-tempo groove, 'There's Something About You' a nice jazzy mid-tempo floater, but the stand out is the unusual , appropriately titled (for her image) 'African Queen' a real foot tapper featuring some great percussion and flute. With good songs and strong lyrics throughout this is well worth checking out.

"On Center Stage With Kimberly Holloway"

Kimberly Holloway is music. She breathes in every note, every melody, and every chord. Possessing a knowledge and wisdom of music that has been described by some as esoteric. The LA-based vocalist/songwriter/musician has an uncanny feel for her craft that borderlines on preternatural. For Holloway, music is life. And it's evident upon first glance at the Atlanta native. You can see it in Kimberly's organic, soulful style, the way she gracefully moves onstage, and you can hear it in the consciousness of her lyrics and music. Kimberly has a unique way of connecting with her audience and transferring her energy to them with each soulful performance.

On her self-titled debut CD, Kimberly Holloway aims to take you on a sonic journey into the consciousness of life through rhythm. Kimberly's album educates you about life and love both lyrically and instrumentally. Kimberly has been chasing the spiritual force that is music for as long as she can remember. Some say she was born with a microphone in her hand. As a small child, Kimberly would study music by recording her favorite songs and memorize every line in the song, the phrasing of the vocalist and then practice by imitating the artist in the mirror everyday.

Kimberly Holloway whets your music palate with a taste for the eclectic. Although she's pure soul, Kimberly gives you a healthy dose of jazz, ala John Coltrane and Ella Fitzgerald mixed with a bit of classical as well. Kimberly's music style echoes memories of an 80's Patrice Rushen while adding a new dimension to today's soul music. Although this musician, songwriter and vocal arranger loves recording, Kimberly absolutely lives for performing and connecting with her audience. When you experience one of her shows you may catch her playing percussion, dancing or battling her musicians vocally on the microphone. There's an old saying in music that artists are born and not made. If that's true, then Kimberly Holloway has found her calling. - (On The Verge 2008)

"A BEAUTIFUL DEBUT...."

A beautiful debut from Atlanta soul singer Kimberly Holloway -- a set that mixes the righteous image on the cover with some smoother sounds in the music -- a blend that's instantly captivating, and which should make this the start of a beautiful career for Kimberly! The songs have an approach that's positive and somewhat spiritual, yet never too over the top -- a quality that makes them slide in slowly and unfold gently -- but with a growing sense of power as the album moves on. Instrumentation features some nice touches of reeds and acoustic guitar, and isn't just the usual beats and keys -- and titles include "Slow Down", "Walls", "Unity", "Superstar", "Distant Cries", "African Queen", and "You Are My Muse".

"SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL"

I would quickly run out of superlatives trying to describe the lovely Miss Kimberly and her astounding vocals. Suffice it to say that she is indeed a remarkable artist and what an incredible discovery! How can this classy talent NOT be a household name? Well, HEY people let's see what we can do about that!

Her bio says "she lives in a world of harmony", and that is certainly an understatement, I would say "the world of harmony lives within HER".

Without a doubt, within the few stunning samples I've been fortunate enough to hear so far, Miss Holloway is unequivocally set apart from most of the vocalists this day and age.

"A Refreshing Journey"

Reviewer: Scott P. Price aka Big Blacque

It's been a while since I last wrote a review for a project. From the heavy latin flava of "Music (Got me High)" to the Amel Larrieux driven "Unity" it is easy to see why this might be one of the best slept on CD's of the upcoming year. Kim's style reminds me of the great Randy Crawford, Jean Carne, and Angela Bofil in how her voice adapts to the style of music that she is relating to. She takes you on a mystical journey above the clouds of mental elevation and into the vast sea of personal expression. "Slow Down," this mello funky fly groove drives you to bob your head to Lil Kim's classic "Crush On You" bass line. Kim's sultry voice makes this cut a must on your play list. Other heartfelt tracks are "You Are My Muse" and "Hold me"... Overall, this is one hellava debut Cd! Keep it comin... Big Blacque - P.U.B. Magazine

Kimberly Holloway

Kimberly has been wowing audiences with her vocal abilities since the age of three. Some say she was born with a microphone in her hand. This native of Atlanta, Georgia gained her interest in music listening to many of the Soul, Funk, and Jazz classics in her older siblings' collections. Since then she has honed her skills playing instruments and lending her vocal and instrumental talents to many of the musical organizations on the campus of Florida A&M University. These include the Infamous Marching "100", Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, Concert Choir and Jazz Band. This is where her love for Jazz & Classical music manifested itself. As a student, Kimberly performed for many conferences, festivals, and venues across the country and abroad. Upon graduating from FAMU, Kimberly, then moved to the Atlanta area where she established herself as a performer within the soul stirring musical community continuing to captivate audiences with her unique style and enigmatic presence. The vocal nuances this earthy sister brings to music are reminiscent of her greatest soul influences, imbued with a hint of Jazz. Although this musician, songwriter, and vocal arranger loves recording, she absolutely lives for performing and connecting with her audience. When you experience one of her shows, you may catch her playing percussion, dancing or battling her musicians vocally on the microphone. The vocal arrangements that come to life through her background will entice you. She lives in a world of harmony, which sets her apart from most of the vocalists this day and age. Kimberly recently moved to the Los Angeles area to begin a new chapter of her musical career. You will not want to miss this soulful vocalist.
