"Tune in, chill out with acoustic reflections"

A chilled -out set of acoustic tunes awaits East Coast music aficionados on Thursday evening when prolific Beaumaris songwriter Kim Imber unveil his latest project live on radio.
Imber will play tracks from his newly released LP, Just A Moment's Sanity, live on Star FM from 7pm.
The singer-songwriter boasts an extensive catalogue od Dylan-esque melodies that are backed with simple percussion and harmonica.
Just A Moment's Sanity, Imber's 5th studio production, is a 10-track philosophical reflection on life and love.
"I find it easier to express what I am thinking in song" Imber said. "(There's) a lot of ideas floating around up there"
Imber wrote the bulk of Just A Moment's Sanity across an 18-month period from 2010. The songs were recorded and mixed last summer.
Imber plans to follow up the release with a tour of Tasmania later this year.
"Like a lot of musicians, I'd love to be able to make a living out of it" he said. "At the moment it is just an expensive hobby. Who knows though, I do it because i love it. I'm just happy to follow that path." - The Examiner, Thursday July 21 2012

Bio

Kim Imber...
may be described as a poet/songwriter with soul. He realised his passion and gift as a songwriter whilst writing his doctoral thesis relating to Shamanism. One may say it was almost like being "struck by the hand of God". Academia out, songwriting in. Yes! Kim realised that songwriting and performing was the perfect vehicle for him to express his unique holistic view of the human condition, his philosophies, politics and spirituality.

Having been influenced by many of the Poets of Rock' n Roll, Kim's earth-based rhythms, guitar playing, melodies and natural sense of musical meter help to create a synergy intended to draw the listener into the spell of the song. Accordingly, Kim aims to record his songs in a way that maintains the integrity of his live act, where he plays guitar and harmonica backed with percussion/drums.

Continually honing his songwriting craft, his performance and his recording skills, Kim has performed at small clubs, venues and various festivals around Tasmania. He has performed live on local ABC and community radio stations and receives the occasional airplay. Kim has recently completed his 3rd publically released CD, this time with 10 original songs.
