MCLEANSBORO - A McLeansboro woman, Kimerbly Moles, has been asked to appear at the Du Quoin State Fair.
Moles has been resuming her musical career of both writing and performing her own music. She's been making appearances around Southern Illinois and also had an appearance this year at Fan Fare in Nashville, live at Opry MIlls with Nashville Connection.
"I had a day car," Moles said, "but I've just got to write those songs."
The urge to write has taken hold of Moles to the point that if she had to pick between writing her songs or performing, she'd perform.
"I want to get my own stuff out there," she said.
"The words come first," Moles said. "I'm thinking about how I want it to sound."
Once she's formed the words for a song, she starts working on a melody.
"I make up the melody in my head," she said.
"It's my stories I'm writing about," she said. "I just write about what I want to sing." - Times-Leader

Kimmy Jo is from Southern Illinois, and has been performing since age 13. She performs all over and is asked back time and time again.
"For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a singer, that was my dream," she says. "There was nothing else". At the age of 7, she would take her Fischer Price tape player to the river by her house and sing out over the edge of the river bank. Just A Swinging was the song.
“I am an entertainer, very energetic, when there is music I can't sit still”, says Kim. “I want the audience to leave with a smile on their face and wondering where I will be next. It's not about the traveling its not about the money its about the next show and the performance. I feel alive and inspired and have this adrenaline rush when I am on stage. It is where I can best convey my feeling and love for music.
Most journeys include some bumps and detours and Kimmy’s trip has been no different. This is not to say that she hasn't enjoyed some great views along the way, but the journey is not yet over. In fact it is just getting started!
Regardless of what the future holds for Kimmy, she will continue to live all her dreams. “I am on the right path now and I hope that it only leads to entertaining the world.”
