I think I hear a
King Coming!

King Dough, born Ronald Barnes on February 16, 1987 is
originally from Chicago, Illinois. Ronald lived with his father on the south
side, and when with his mother, he stayed on the west side, also called ‘k
town’. Due to the rough reality of growing up in the streets and gang infested
surroundings, young Ronald had to grow up quicker than what was expected of any
young man. His mother feared that the streets would grab her son, so she took
her young boy and then moved to Louisville, Kentucky. There, they lived with
his aunt and three older cousins in what was formally known as Southwick
projects.

As Ronald grew
older, he would go back to visit his father and it was then that he found a
love for the different variations of music. For some time Ronald, played
football at Holy Cross High School, but after dislocating his hip he soon transferred
to Butler High School. It was no surprise that you could find Ronald in the cafeteria
at school starting cyphers with friends; his hobby of rapping and having an ear
for music grew into a passion. He started a neighborhood group called Triple
Threat and while attending Jefferson community and Technical college he bought
his first studio with his residual funds.

He went on to form
his own local music label CCE, Certified Cake Eaters and coined the rap name
King Dough. In 2008 he teamed up with some of his best friends and older brother
Young Diesel, an aspiring producer, and they were determined to put their music
on the map.  Dough released his first mix
tape titled "Higher Learning" in 2009 and not long after that
fathered a son; this forced him to take a hiatus from his music. After a visit
back to the dealings of the streets and caring for his young son, he used the
unexpected turns life took him on as inspiration to get him back to his love
for music.

In 2015 he released
a self-named mixtape, “King Dough”.  It
was this mixtape that caught people’s attention, especially other up and coming
local artist.  When King Dough made
music, he made it his own, serving up supreme and witty lyrics, and writing
abilities were stellar. He gave his music swag that portrayed  the realities of his life and told stories. King
Dough began to battle other local artist and almost effortlessly became the 4
time underground music champion in the city of Louisville, KY in 2016. King
Dough is heading into 2017 with a bang! He is currently working on another
project, "King Me", set to be released in 2017.
