"King Styne Interview"

What’s going on? Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from.
Hey whats happening, whats going on world. Its ya boi King Styne FKA IenStyne (Pronounced IenStyne) coming out of ATX (Austin, Tx) but originally from Washington, DC also known as the DMV.

2. When did you start rapping and who or what inspired you?
I first started rapping at the age of sixteen just freestyling wit da homies as something to do and a way to express myself or what ever i was feeling at the time. Which turned into me writing and recording my first song which was kinda shocking to myself and others because of not only how good it was but the lyricism, depth and story behind the song. My inspiration came from the late great Tupac Shakur and it wasnt just the music that inspired me but his affect on the world behind what he said. How attached everyone was to what he said and how his music generated in so many ways but that wasnt it for me. Also he had a quote he once said , which was “I may not change the workld but i guarantee i spark the brain that willl” at that time my alias/Stage name was IenStyne (Pronounced like Einstein). So that to me was much deeper than the words itself. Ya kno?

3. As an up and coming artist, do you find it difficult to maintain personal relationships while perusing your music career?
Ummmmm I must say it is a bit challenging trying to maintain healthy progressive relationships while persuing a music career because its almost like a understanding barrier with people who dont fully understand your commitment or better yet your grind and what it takes to pursue a career of Any sort let alone a music career. And then on the other hand, i have networked and came across a lot of great people thus far. Some musically inclined, some not. So it really depends on the Artist/Person and the relationship thats being built or transformed in the process but like i said it can be a bit challenging and I think finding that balance is tough for almost any artist.

4. Tell us something you enjoy doing [besides music] that most people don’t know.
Honestly, theres not much people dont know i enjoy doing other than music but I enjoy the reward of hard working and having a task at hand that feeling you get when its accomplished. Thats what really gets me excited and motivated. Other than that just family time when i have a chance and kicking back kicking it wit the fellas. Having a chill and relaxing day which come few and far between lol.

5. Currently, what project or single are you working on or pushing & where can we find it?
Currently right now the first single we promoting off the project “The Reign” is called “We Turnt” featuring and produced by MCH. Also “The Reign” is scheduled to drop on the 22nd of June and the single can be found on soundcloud and the project a be launched on spinrilla for starters.

6. What’s been the most memorable moment so far in your music career?
I would have to say i have a few memorable moments in my career thus far like a college tour wit Wale back in 06-07 but the most memorable for me is when i got to perform for the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) and winning a trip to Africa.

7. If you could work with any artist, (current or past) who would it be and why?
If i had the opportunity to work with any artist right now i a say it has to be Kendrick lamar and J cole and i say that because I like what they doing with their impact on the game and the art. I honestly think if we were to do a track together it a not only be fire but it a put me in the ears of their core fan base which is a Win Win for me all around da board.

8. What are your goals musically for the remainder of this year?
My goals musically for the remainder of the year is to get started working on “The Reign” volume 2 and create a bigger platform to showcase my artistry and better build my company, name and Brand.

9. Tell everyone where they can find you? [Websites, Social media, Booking info etc]
Right now you can find me on twitter @IenStyne. On Facebook and instagram just search Ienstyne or King Styne and i should poo up. For booking i can be contacted via email at or by phone.whichever is easier and more sufficient.Ya kno?

10. What words would you like to leave us with? Any Shout Outs?
The Words i like to end of every show and interview with is…”You know the business so the business gon get to know me RIGGGHHHHTTT” and as far as Shoutouts goes. I like to shoutout my team and my brother Yung Rell for believing in me and my vision. Also my company Great Entertainment Music. My Squad DMG and all my supporters, friends and family back home and most importantly YOU. Thanks for the love and support through it ALL. Without you all none of this would be possible. It a all be nothing but a dream. - Tampa Mystic

Still working on that hot first release.

George Doward, Jr., previously known as “Ienstyne”, was born and raised in the Washington, DC/Maryland area and made his way to Austin, Texas in the early part of 2012. Now known as King Styne, he began his earlier career as head of GEM (Great Entertainment Music) and stepped down as CEO to help upstart the Austin DMG label with his long time brother Yung Rell. With a fresh move to Austin, along with almost a decade of experience, Styne brought with him diversity and good work ethics, which proved to be beneficial for the new label. More recently, Styne has begun redefining and rebranding himself as a solo artist. Performing numerous times a week at various local venues, King Styne has once again, successfully branded the new name.

One artist that has made an impact in Stynes younger years is Tupac Shakur. With quotes like, "I might not change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that changes the world”, King Styne continues to appreciate the power and influence that the respected icon brought to the industry. Quotes by Shakur only reassure Styne that there is a great power behind his own lyrics and music. Knowing that, it clearly gives him the driven force to strive and make a difference in his own artistry.

Styne has shared the stage with the likes of Tabi Bonney and earned a college tour with Wale. Styne has also performed for the NAACP and has been a part of various community events. With a hunger behind the voice and a story behind the lyrics, Styne promises to continue to develop a new platform for his fans that will sustain great acknowledgement and exposure.

Since 2005, King Styne has released three solo projects beginning with a mixtape entitled, “Lets Get It”. The second project, “The Meaning of A Genius” soon followed in 2006. Styne’s first EP, “Certified Business” came at the perfect time in 2007 and was accompanied with an outpour of support from his fans and following. Now, Styne’s fourth and more recent project, “The Reign”, is due to drop summer of 2015. The mix tape includes the renowned single produced my MCH entitled, “We Turnt”. The summer release will be accompanied with a slew of creative visuals that are already in pre-production and are scheduled to drop this summer as well.
Other track features on the mix tape include Yung Kaprice and DMG affiliate Yung Rell.

Knowing that failure is a part of succeeding, King Styne acknowledges that everything is learned through “trial and error”, and that in order to be successful you must accept and fail enough to become that great successor. Endurance and sacrifice come with the fight to reach for your dreams, but consistency is the key in this industry. Look forward to getting to know the new King Styne, because he’s definitely bringing the consistency and well, “The Dream”, he holds that in his hand. Quote to strive by: “If you’re not growing, then where are you going”
