Bio

King Castle has been expressing himself as a songwriter for 13 years. Throughout his youth and until he was a young adult his family moved him back and forth from the West and East Coast. Kings lyrics and music have a distinct flavor from the exposure he gained from that experience. He was blessed with that unique opportunity to live so diversely during and leading up to the time when Hip-Hop was really becoming a culture. His unprecedented style comes from his ability to conform to the constant changes, turmoil in his environment and struggle through hard times. All of this was a contribution to what enabled him to mold his work into the unique sound you hear today.

King gained confidence to pursue his dream to become an artist through his involvement with performances around inner city events, talent shows, school plays, and even family functions. King’s artistic inspirations were influenced by a variety of well-known artists such as: Big Daddy Kane, Michael Jackson, Run DMC, Bobby Brown, D.O.C., Prince, Jodeci, Ice Cube, and Guns & Roses.

While pursuing his passion back in the North East, King hooked up with super Producer G.O.D. and formed the hip-hop act Tremble & Base. The duo acquired knowledge and exposure in the music business by continually managing their own careers without the help of a personal manager. They booked and choreographing their own shows, and recorded all their own original music. Eventually, King and G.O.D. departed from Tremble & Base and formed the duo group EXL (Extreme Lyrists). King penned such hits as Blind to Reality, Ruff Neck and Image, with the existing group EXL. These songs along with the rest of the EXL album became markers and unknowingly set the tone for the current phenomenon that has become King Castle & Dammahum Records.

One of King’s first career milestones came after the duo attended the legendary Jack the Rapper Music Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia. The group decided to broaden their horizons. King moved to Atlanta to set up shop. King’s prior experience and crafted talent lead him to instant success in the Atlanta music scene. During King Castle’s success, G.O.D. continued to produce music and DJ for local acts and clubs.

While King was advocating his music on the east coast, G.O.D.’s melodic and masterful production caught the ear of Embryo Records label owner - Tom Parham.
Parham instantly brought aboard the young producer to head up the R&B/Hip-hop department in Las Vegas, Nevada. With this freedom and access to their own production facility, King wasn’t far behind. He was flown out to Las Vegas to join G.O.D. at Embryo Records. There the two began working on his first classic album “Structured Insanity”. While under the Embryo Records flag King was able to perform in Las Vegas and Los Angeles while continuing to learn the in’s and out’s of the record business.

King always maintaining a consistent and creditable demeanor, he was able to create a unique product, which opened many doors for the songwriter and lyricist. Giving him not only the opportunity to perform, but explode on the underground circuit. King’s ability to build long lasting relationships played a major part in his success. Those bonds have been key to his recognition and acknowledgement in the music industry.
