"Get A Clew"

Atlanta’s own, Chris Lewis may be the next young musician to push the boundaries with his unpredictable and unique sound. Currently living in New Jersey to fulfill his desire to be closer and rekindle his relationship with his father, who is also a musician, he feels much more understood/supported than ever. With the music industry being a possible cause of his parent’s separation, he is nothing but motivated to bridge that gap with his talent. Although Chris is taking a small break from the city, he still credits Atlanta as “the core fiber of himself as a musician” and you can feel that resemblance in his music. He loves how the city is “so laid back, but fast pace” or in other words the perfect mixture, just like his music. Most of all, clew appreciates the love, women, and the scenery since it gives him so much to write about. The heart of clew’s music is rap or something he calls “float rap” which examples he feels as if he’s floating over the music because it coincides with the melody as if he’s singing but he really isn’t. Clew strives not to be labeled or have any boundaries so he has freedom to grow with the music. “Just look forward to hearing me make great music and imagery with it”, he says. Creating Life in an Empty World (clew) is what he’s here to do, “people should be able to visualize when listening to my music, we are becoming such a dead culture spiritually, and I want to help our generation find that connection… I want the music to be much bigger than me”. Looking at the bigger picture, clew is extremely confident that he will prosper in the future and uses his time now to build connections and foundation. We talked about artist like 2pac, Ye, Kendrick, Drake, a friend of his named Raury and how how all of these artist have challenged our minds and made us more aware with through their music, just like he’s wants to. Going into 2015, he plans on showing people who clew is, sharing his journey of how he found a way for himself, building a fan base, and letting the music speak for itself. -

"King Clew Releases His Latest Track Titled “Catch Me If You Can”"

New music today out of Atlanta as King Clew releases his latest track titled “Catch Me If You Can.” Clew is a rapper out of ATL by way of New Jersey as per his Twitter bio. He stands in good company as he has affiliation with newcomer Raury and ties within the new Atlanta movement.

I am new to King Clew, but after a listen through his soundcloud account I hear the potential in his music. Listen to his latest track above; a smooth autotune laced ballad. Follow him on Twitter and stay tuned for more. - Keith Morris

"GALAGA 3000 (feat. Lyra)"

King Clew has a gem of a record with his song, Galaga 3000, and whoever his featured
guest - Lyra - is...this girl can sing! Clew is a perfect example of what's missing in hip-hop
these days. On Galaga 3000, the artist shows us that the genre doesn't have to sound
like soul-less disco trash with no meaning or feeling in order to be commercially viable. I'd
be lying if I didn't admit that I'm a bit biased because the Neo-Soul genre is what I
specialize in as a musician/producer. But that does not negate the fact that great music is
evident when you hear it, no matter what the genre may be.

Galaga 3000 drew me in instantly by starting off with my favorite instrument to play -
fender rhodes. As the strings make their melodic entrance with the live bass in tow, I
could feel a rush of chills because it reminded me of when urban music was colorful,
vibrant, beautiful, and alive; you know...before the disco era of urban music kicked in and
great African-American artists like Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and Common dominated the
hip-hop and soul genres. My only pull back from giving the music production a perfect
score was the fact that the drum production and rhodes seemed to disappear in the mix.
Having the kick drum sit perfectly beneath the live bass and the rhodes out front is
essential for a classic soul joint to pop. Nevertheless, this is still one of the hottest overall
songs I've heard from an indie hip-hop artist in months.

Despite the slight use of AutoTune (people who know me, know I hate when great singers
use it), King Clew and Lyra did a fantastic job of delivering the vocals. While the subject
matter is somewhat predictable, the topic of falling in love will never get old and is right on
par for th genre. I'd recommend King Clew's, Galaga 3000, to anyone who is a fan of
neo-soul and hip hop. If you're looking for a great track to ride out to this summer, this is
one to check out. - I am Entertainment Magazine

Bio

Christopher Lewis (born March 21, 1995) is an American rapper and songwriter. A native to Atlanta, his smooth sounds set him apart from the typical trap music that often comes out of the South. Coming from a family of dancers and musicians, his organically artistic nature easily translates in his music. He performs under the stage name King Clew and is currently attending college in New Jersey.

Lewis is a truly talented young artist striving to increase his reach by sharing his positive message and perspective on life. His skills exceed lyrical domination as he also produces his own beats and experiments with filming, directing and editing for his own music videos. Although a new artist, the unique style and familiar vibe of his club bangers and chill hits make you feel like you've been listening to him for years.

Lewis plans to drop his first collection, The C.L.E.W. EP, this summer. Hear all of his released music at https://soundcloud.com/kingclew
