Bio

King G.I. (Grand Infinit) first encounter with music was at the age of 5.
He use to go through the old vinyl collection accumulated by his parents and just listen and dance.
His father is from Kingston, Jamaica. He is a master of the martial arts and aikido. He disciplined the young
G.I. through his knowledge and wisdom passed down from generations.
Music was a major influence in G.I.s' early life. He loved great records!
Great records like Bob Marley, Isley Brothers, The Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, James Brown,
The Doors and tons of others records. He first started rapping and break dancing after being influences by Run DMC,
Kool Herc, Sugar Hill Gang, KRS one, EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, and Fat Boys.
The years passed to 1992 and it was in G.I.s room where it all started.
Him and his friend King Amen Ra (both would later form the Universal Kings) started rapping
to old loops on a tape recorder. They would make copies of the tapes and sell them at school and in the neighborhood.
This continued on until 1995 when the group Organic Structure was formed. It was G.I. and another high
school friend by the name of Eye-3. They saved up some money and got into a 48-track studio.
They recorded only 4 songs and began doing various talent shows and showcases. After G.I. graduated
high school he went to collage at Cal State University Los Angeles. With his love still for music he decided
to put a pause on it while enrolling in a theatre class. The acting class soon became G.I.s new love!
He took some headshots and began auditioning everywhere. He landed a permanent part as a student in the
classroom on the Steve Harvey show in 1996.On the set he met up and coming producer named "Vibe".
They did four songs together. G.I. was doing what he loved, acting and recording. In the same year he met a famous Street Promoter named Michael Nixon,
who worked for different record labels. His job was to pass out promotional material at different concerts and
events. He had represented 22 accounts of different record labels. With one meeting with G.I., he secured a job as
a Street Promoter in 1996. G.I. worked very hard, meeting many DJ's, A&R's, C.E.O.'s, Club Owners, Rappers,
Retail Store Owners, and other Street Promoters in the industry. G.I. remembers the fatal year of 1997 when one
of his favorite rappers was gunned down, "yeah we was up at the radio station 100.3 the beat "Wake Up Show"
with Sway, giving records to the dj's up there and we was coming down headed over to the museum on Wilshire
and Fairfax for a Quincy Jones industry party when all I heard was gunshots." He says. The gunshots hit one of
G.I.s' favorite rappers, the Notorious BIG. The year is 1999, on the new year of 2000, G.I. answered an ad in the
Los Angeles Times newspaper. A producer in San Diego was looking for a hip hop act to work with. His name was
P and G.I. drove two hours to record 7 songs with the producer to complete the "First Legacy" album. This was G.I.s'
first album and he was very happy of his accomplishment. Now with an album to shop and market, G.I. began doing
major shows and concerts. By the end of 2000 G.I. connected with his old friends from 1992 and completed a group
album. The Universal Kings completed the "Revolution" album and was an unstoppable force. They performed
everywhere and were labeled "Most Energetic Group" by world-renowned open mic circuit "Project Blowed".
By the year 2002 G.I. just completed another solo album called the "Secondz Coming" and is in the process of
completing his third solo album called the "Trilogy". G.I. is also gathering tracks for a second group album with
the Universal Kings. G.I. just took some new headshots and is seeking an acting agent. In 2003-2008 G.I. started the "Commercially Underground" mixtape series and just completed his best album to date. The "L.I.F.E" cd brings a breath of fresh air to the hip hop music scence and it is getting critical praise in the Dallas, Texas hip hop circle. The new "B.I.R.T.H" cd (because i represent tru hiphop) will drop
