Bio
KingGod, you never need to breathe again. The mood-altering melody, the addictive groove, and the "tongue-in-cheek" lyric are the essence of what makes KingGod accessible to everyone from shoegazers to punk rockers. Mike Robinson (formerly of Aspera) and Ken Taylor formed this partnership, in the winter of 2000, with the desire to create rich, textured music within a framework of thoughtful song writing. Robinson's lyrics speak to the pain and absurdity of the world we live in, all the while, reflecting the hope that we can change the world, even if it is just changing ourselves. KingGod's stage show is nothing short of spectacular. KG combines the energy of The Clash with the showmanship of David Bowie, intriguing audiences with a sophisticated stage set-up, complete with an intense light/visual show. It has been said that the band's performances are "stadium productions compressed into smaller venues." Brock Leigh (guitar) and Jeff Kueny (drums) join Robinson and Taylor to create this sonic and intellectually-stimulating masterpiece. Put it this way, in KG's hometown of Philadelphia (the city that never ...dances), audiences have been known to actually...dance. KingGod. Nothing to do with religion. Everything to do with awesome.
