Bio

King Jack are a three piece rock band with roots lying in both Sydney and Port Macquarie. Singer/Guitarist Rols Ellis is from Port Macquarie whilst bass player Dave Hume and drummer Andrew Phelan are Sydney boys. The group was founded in the summer of 2003/04 by the three uni friends.
With influences ranging from The Doors and The White Stripes to Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who and Radiohead King Jack have developed their own authentic rock sound which is attracting much attention throughout the Australian Music industry.
The boys have recently signed a development deal with Sony/Bmg Australia and are currently recording demos with the intention of releasing their debut album in early 2007. King Jack have also recently signed a management deal with Michael Stangel and Aria award winner David Nicholas's new Management company Jellyfish music. King Jack's demo recording of Black Sparrow reached as high as number two on the Triple j unearthed chart, it also attracted a four star rating from triple j's Robbie Buck.
King Jack have also proven themselves as a great live act especially in the Sydney area. They have played numerous supports with Sydney's The Fumes and Phil Jamison's new project The Lost Gospel. The band sold out their last show at Sols Deck Bar with a crowd of over 300. They have toured extensively on the North Coast playing to a capacity crowd the last time they visited Port Macquarie's Finnians' Tavern.
King Jack feel that they would be a great addition to the already stellar lineup for this years Festival of the Sun and being a band with strong ties to the Port Macquarie area they would be right at home with the audience. With a big 2007 planned for King jack the Festival of the Sun would be a great opportunity for the band to get off on the right foot heading into the new year.
