Seascape was our first self released single in 2008 which sold over 5000 copies online.

Bio

Having played around for a while
with music, lyrics and expression,
we finally got serious in 2008. We're
a group of music-obsessed friends
from all around Manchester. We're
solid, hardworking and determined
to make King Kayak work, and so
that’s what we do & it’s a lot of fun
doing it.
Some of our highlights so far include:
• Self-funded single release for ‘Seascape’
which has sold more than 5,000 copies
online.
• Supporting KT Tunstall and Gary Numan on the
Main stage at the Wickerman Festival 2008.
• Winners of Key 103 Battle of the Bands for
our region.
• Winners of the XFM Uploaded unsigned
band of the month.
• Revolution FM single of the week for
‘John’.
• Sellout show at The Cavern Liverpool.
• Regular airplay on XFM, Revolution FM,
various BBC & other regional stations.
• Regular media exposure in numerous
regional newspapers inc Manchester Evening
News, Stockport Express, Salford Advertiser,
Oldham Advertiser as well as scores of music
magazines inc Sandman, Libertine Magazine &
numerous online magazines.
• Continued back ing from industry
pros Clint Boon, Martin Walsh and
Courteeners manager Conrad Murrey.
For 2009 we have a brand new set of songs which we're very excited about. We'll be playing
more festivals, releasing our next
2 self funded singles and
recording our forthcoming album.
