"Commotion Konqueror"

The four-piece band has long had a reputation as one of metro's best live bands, putting on a show while heating up the dance floor wit hits infectious white-boy reggae, supercharged with a punk sneer. - HFX Magazine

"Kings of Halifax"

Fist Magnet is definitely harder-hitting than the ska-heavy Smash Hits!!!, with more focus on Prince Brat's mod-punk guitar hooks .... The added agression hasn't affected the band's groove, however - tracks such as "Tao of Selection", "Remedy" and "Going West" are some of the best dance-floor fillers you'll hear this year.

If you've witnessed King Konqueror live, you've seen them in their element. A wild party on-stage, the band in known for its beer-soaked, blood-stained, guitar-breaking antics. - The Coast

Bio

King Konqueror has been breaking attendance and bar sales records in Canada’s nightlife capital since early 1999. Pounding out melodic rock and soul, with generous helpings of reggae and retro punk, their presentation is frenzied and interactive - suits and ties, sweat, beer, and even, at times, a dancing gorilla.

Having morphed into a four piece outfit over the years, King Konqueror is now a rock steady machine, with Judge Rolly on vocals, Prince Brat on guitar, Lord Lensworth on bass, and Johnny Kong on drums. For such a wild live band, they are incredibly polished, belting out seamless riffs and harmonies. You’ll hear something like The Clash, a little less political, a whole lot more crazed. You’ll never stand still again.

The band has been a highlight of the East Coast music scene since their inception. "Smash Hits", the debut EP, was Tidemark's biggest seller, bragging 1200 units sold in its release year, and received many a nod, not only from the Canadian music community, but was raved about as far off as the UK and Australia from magazines "These Boots" and "Do The Dog".

"Fist Magnet", their sophomore full-length release received three nominations for Nova Scotia Music Week, including Best Pop/Rock Recording, Best Group Recording, and Best Album of 2005, as well as a nomination for the East Coast Music Awards in 2006 for Best Rock Album. Produced by Idea of East's Lawrence Currie, this most recent collection may be the undeniable springboard for the long awaited rise of one of Halifax's long time favorites.
