Bio
King Lhota's positive Senegalese roots rhythms are stirring souls from Africa to Asia. Dakar, Senegal, the 1990's, the capitol of African Rap. It was here Lhota found his voice in the mix of Mbalax, French Rap and Jamaican Dancehall that filled the streets. A decade on, King Lhota is taking it global, and collaborating with dynamic artists from as far away as Malaysia, Indonesia and the UK.
Influenced by his family and the daily struggles of the people around him, King learned that everyone must play a part in the society we are living in. Nelson Mandela, Black Panthers, Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey and La Negritude have inspired Lhota as much as Bob Marley and Garnet Silk. The music, it's about equal rights, justice and love enough to overcome any strategy put forward from Babylon.
King Lhota's message can be heard with the talents of artists from Africa, Europe and Asia including Xalimaj Puissance Rap (Senegal), Black Diaspora J (Senegal), Seppos MC (Senegal), Deggeur Bop Kartel (Senegal), iandi Combination (Malaysia), boomerangz of Malaysia, with Ras Muhamad (Indonesia), Rylrymz Nigeria, The Afro-Azian-Brodaz (Nigeria), Hitz Production London (UK), and Adamjay (France). He can be seen live touring Africa, Europe and Asia in support of his 2008 solo release POSITIV VIBRATIONZ.
