Alderson Broaddus graduate Reed West will be performing a solo acoustic set for part of the homecoming entertainment this year. Since graduating in 2004 Reed has since moved back to his hometown in Nashville Tennessee and continues to work within the music industry as a successful songwriter. We are happy to have Reed back in town playing most of his recent cuts while going back to the songs you have gotten used to during his stay at A-B. Bio
Raised by musicians in Nashville, Reed West has established himself as a songwriter in the competitive Nashville music scene, creating music for acts such as: THI, The Raretruth, Himalayan, Altered States and Roberts and Elwood. His participation in arranging material for these performers has helped them to flourish in the region over the span of the last ten years. Reed’s work with Jared Roberts (lead singer of Roberts and Elwood) lead to the forging of a musical relationship named King of the Disco, a project that was formed with the intention of creating bare-bones acoustic and vocal frameworks for other artists to manipulate and sculpt to their own artistic visions. While Reed and Jared have been influenced by a number of songwriters in a variety of genres, they have specialized in writing compositions for bands ranging from Top 40 to Rock and Country. The live performance fills up venues in Nashville due to the high energy acoustic performances of the familiar tunes that you will sing along to peppered with creatively chosen cover songs to put a bow on the live act. This atmosphere gives the perspective artists the ability to see the song in a live setting to get a final feel of how it will work with their arrangement.
