Bio

Kingswood are an Australian rock band. After winning the coveted Triple J Unearthed title to open the main stage at Splendour in the Grass, the band worked furiously to achieve widespread recognition in what can only be described as a whirlwind of excitement. Singles released ('Yeah Go Die', 'Medusa', 'She's My Baby' & latest 'Ohio) were added to high rotation on national youth broadcaster Triple J as well as being nominated for Unearthed Act of the year in 2012 and featured as Next Crop Artists for 2013. Supports ranged from Australian household names including The Living End and Grinspoon to international heavyweights Aerosmith and The Saints. The band then toured extensively in their own right and played many of the major Australian festivals including Big Day Out, Groove In The Moo, Big Pineapple Festival, Bass In the Grass, Pyramid Rock, Bleach Festival, River Sessions, Big Sound, Falls Festival and a return to Splendour in their own right. 2013 has setup the debut release from Kingswood in the extended EP 'Change of Heart - Deluxe'. The record spent 7 weeks at #3 on the AIR charts. 2013 also saw Kingswood embark on their maiden voyage to the USA to record their debut album with Vance Powell (Jack White, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, White Stripes, Blackbird Studios) in Nashville, TN. 2014 Saw the release of their debut album 'Microscopic Wars' with a top 10 chart position at #6 on the ARIA charts and a national tour that sold out iconic Australian venues The Forum, Metro, The Triffid, The Gov and the Capitol and was made feature album on Triple J. The album was nominated for best rock Album at the ARIA Awards and numerous other awards including a 2nd place for best rock song in the International Song Writing Competition and nominations for song writing at the APRA Awards. 2015 sees Kingswood head to the USA to begin the lengthy journey of taking their music to the world whilst preparing for their sophomore.
