Bio

KTR is a ska/punk band from Somerset U.K formed back in 2005.
Previously Sketch and Screener had an 8 piece ska band called “The Fluf” in which we played many gigs including supporting Bad Manners but eventually we wanted to move in a different direction to the rest of the band and KTR was born.

Our first three gigs went down well, playing with 4ft Fingers in April but then Screener chopped the end of one of his fingers off (thankfully it was sown back on) so the band unfortunately lost the momentum which was a shame. Things got rolling once again and the band went on a self financed 10 day European tour and have been gigging regularly ever since.

Now with the introduction of Tom Holmwood on guitar the band sound’s much more dynamic, and pushing things forward even more is our new bassist Guy Allen, I can’t remember doing a gig where we’ve failed to get people dancing.

We are proud to be part of the UK ska/reggae scene; we have played with many amazing bands already such as Spunge, Sonic Boom Six, Fandangle, Fight the Bear, Catch-It-Kebabs, Mouthwash, Random Hand, Bad Manners, Jesse James, Smoke Like a Fish, Captain Bud, Maroon Town and the King Blues.

We regularly play in Wales and this summer are performing at Kippertronix festival for the second year running, also this year we are organising several small UK tours.

Our main influences are bands like Sublime, Rancid, Mad Caddies, Reel Big Fish, Green Day and Dire Straits to name a few and our similar music taste helps us produce music we are all happy with. Our best quality though is how well we get along with each other, so no matter what happens along the way we always have a good time which we feel is an important part of being in a band.
