Bio
Kira Velella is a singer and songwriter of the folkish persuasion. She currently lives and plays in New York.
Always rooted in emotion, at once joyous and sad, Kira’s songwriting takes listeners to a vulnerable place. Her soft soprano weaves angular vocal lines through complex harmonies, with a lyrical style born out of poetry. It’s for your old soul and inner child, and with her instruments of choice guitar and voice, she will sing you safely through.
Kira has performed her original indie folk tunes for audiences around the country. Her debut EP, Daughter, is available as of April 2013.
