Kirby Lane is the name given to the melodic blend of two voices, Jessica Henderson and Johnelka Stafford. Jessica’s resonating sound blends with Johnelka’s velvety voice resulting in intoxicating harmony. The richness of their soul and harmonies is why they have coined the phrase ‘Harmony Soul’ to describe their signature sound. Jessica and Johnelka have been singing together since childhood. Their name, Kirby Lane, was inspired by the location of the storefront church where they first fell in love with music’s ability to lift the spirit. They are anointed with the gift of music and follow God’s journey with humility and sincerity not often heard of.
Kirby Lane’s sound is influenced by soul, rhythm & blues, gospel, electronica, and jazz producing inspiring music that will permeate your soul. Their sets are a combination of innovative originals and unique covers.
Kirby Lane is currently recording their debut album to be released in the spring of 2010. Keep your ears open and be sure to catch one of their upcoming shows.
