BIOGRAPHY

Born on the beautiful island of Barbados, Kirk Brown is one of its brightest stars. He is an award-winning singer and song-writer and a versatile deejay for one of Barbados’ leading radio stations. Kirk, who is also known for his sound business acumen, has founded his own entertainment company, which owns a recording studio and live band.

To date, he has amassed an eclectic compilation of original tracks, with recent collaborations including “Take Your Time” featuring Vybz Kartel; "Dutty Wine” featuring Fat Man Scoop; "Wine Like Dat" featuring Lil Rick and "Midnight Lover" with Jeri-Marie (niece of Sting from the Police). In the past, he has shared the stage with other major international stars including Ne-Yo, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Rihanna, Fat Joe, Beenie Man, Tessanne Chin, Baby Cham and J Cole.

Kirk travels the globe to perform and has represented Barbados at a number of international trade shows. Some of his performances have included shows in his homeland, New York, Cannes France, London and Miami, such as:

Over the last few years, he has maintained a presence in Barbados’ annual Crop Over Season, making it to the finals of the coveted Sweet Soca and Party Monarch finals for 2 consecutive years. Arising out of his increased visibility, Kirk has consistently been performing and hosting events in Barbados, South America and the USA.

For the year 2013, Kirk has been hard at work on a full 11-track Crop Over album including collaborations with soca veterans Red Plastic Bag and Alison Hinds along with Yetunde from the UK and Africa. This album, entitled “Ah Ready”, also features an infectious Zouk remix by Kirk Brown and Admiral T from Guadeloupe which is specially geared towards the creole and French territories. It was written by Jason “Shaft” Bishop and produced by Dwaingerous, who is the lead keyboardist for the Machel Montano HD Band.
Kirk’s visibility continues to increase as he maintains a wide reach via his early morning radio show, “The Edge” on weekdays from 5am until 10am on 98.1 The One and his social networking mediums, with audiences of 50,000 and 250,000 respectively.

2013 has been an extremely productive year for Kirk so far. He has completed a number of performances in the Region and Barbados, including the Brazilian Symposium staged by the NCF. His other 2013 performances and deejay gigs include:

After more than 20 performances this crop over season, including private events, his sights are now set on Notting Hill Carnival in the UK, Labor Day Carnival in the US, Miami Carnival, a promotional tour of the region and Trinidad Carnival 2014.

Kirk Brown is the total package and in more ways than one, he is set to take the world’s stage by storm at a moment’s notice.
