Bio

Growing up in Canada has definitely taught me modesty. Although you meet different people in every region of the world, the Canadians I have met in different areas have always been the ones I can most relate to. I have always looked at being an introvert as a bad thing, but what I have realized is I pushed all my energy into the Universe, what would be left for me? Instead I have all this energy and emotion tornado-ing inside of me that essentially creates all of my music. As I get older, I have come in contact with music that I can truly relate to. I mean, I have always been able to relate to anything, but this music that I have grown fond of recently has changed my whole perspective on my music and music in general. For example, Ray Lamontagne gets me. He has such a strong sense of comfort mixed with passion that it makes me want to be a better songwriter and help people feel the way I feel when I listen to his music.

Like every singer/songwriter you will encounter, I have to say that music is my life. It takes away anxiety, it makes everything better. There is no better home remedy to take away stress than music. It is my life, it always has been and it always will be. I wake up singing, I go to bed writing. What sets me apart is the mixture I have going between my lyrics/type of music and my vocals. My lyrics and the shapes of my songs are influenced by passionate artists like Ben Howard and Brooke Fraser, but my vocals are influenced by R&B artists like Beyonce and Stevie Wonder. So it is a very interesting mix because it is simple in the beginning, but then my vibrato comes out and you're asking yourself 'where did that come from?'.
