Bio

Kirwin Wyatt is a 26-year old Durban-born singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, actor and all-round entertainer. Through a combination of unique creativity and undeniable charisma, Kirwin is undoubtedly on the fast track to success.

Kirwin’s versatility as an artist allows him to move between musical genres with the ease and grace of a young Michael Jackson. From slow R&B love songs to hard-hitting 2Pac-hip hop beats, Kirwin creates music that is incredibly radio-friendly; it is only a matter of time before his music will be playing on radio stations, iPods and television.

Kirwin’s singing career began in Durban with the formation of the R&B group “Cra-Z-Love”. It was here that he developed his singing and song-writing skills, and the group’s many live performances were where he honed his engaging stage presence.

Moving to Joburg to begin his solo quest, Kirwin met the rapper Obita, who worked with him to develop his hip-hop skills. It was here that Kirwin began making beats and producing tracks for Obita and other rappers; they performed at various shows in and around the Johannesburg area. Kirwin has since then gone on to collaborate and feature with a host of talented local artists, including producer Paul Stainbank; East Coast Radio’s DJ Trevor Williams; singer Denise Ontong; the rapper Young Soulja; singer/rapper Loki; and many others. Kirwin also features on singer Lx Seth’s music video “Attitude EFX” which was played extensively on both DSTV and SABC.

Kirwin has performed extensively as an artist and entertainer. He performed live on Channel-O’s the “Obama” show in 2005; he performed at the 2006 Youth United Against AIDS Concert in Wentworth, Durban; he performed at a private party at Sun Coast Casino’s Café Vacca Matta in 2008; he has performed extensively in nightclubs in Durban and Johannesburg; and he has also acted in bit-parts in local programs Binnelanders, Scandal, Egoli, Generations as well as various adverts.

Apart from his collaborations with other artists, Kirwin has also excelled personally. His hit song “Dip It Low” has been played extensively on SA’s national radio stations, and he has been featured on two CD compilations: his song “Can’t find the words” was featured on DJ crew Dubble Trouble’s “Summer Sensations” CD compilation Vol 1; and his dance track “Dip it low” was featured on “East Coast Radio’s Trevor Williams CD compilation Volume 2”.

As difficult as it is to pin Kirwin’s music into a single genre, there is no denying that this young producer and musician is destined for great things. With his tireless work ethic, confidence and never-say-die attitude, Kirwin sets his goals high and he works towards them with the unwavering determination of an Olympic athlete. The sky is the limit, and Kirwin’s superstardom is imminent.
His debut album titled ‘You’re The One’ is due for release in February 2011.
