Kites & Crows have performed at venues such as Mississippi Studios ( Portland) The Can Can ( Seattle) and Amnesia ( San Francisco), the trio has recorded two eps and a full length album due in September 2012
Kites & Crows, an indie folk / Americana trio from Ashland, Oregon had their first tour in November 2010 selling their homemade ep Golden Room which has become a favorite on Jefferson Public Radio's Folk Show and newspapers from the west coast agree :

"... oodles of pretty melodies..."
— the Bend Bulletin

".. quality work. " — Moscow-Pullman Daily News

"...intelligent songwriting..." — The Siskiyou

"..folksy intellect...very pretty music.." — BANG!

Singer/songwriter Mysha Caruso started Kites & Crows with multi-instrumentalist Jesse Baldwin on banjo and accordion. Nancy Martin forms the trio on Cello and vintage Vibraphonette. Mysha Caruso attended the Walnut Hill School for the performing arts in Boston as a theatre major but his main focus was in vocal training with teachers from the New England Conservatory. He began to shift his focus to songwriting when he left Boston to travel. His solo troubadour style performance eventually led him to Ashland. The three musicians of Kites & Crows met at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival where they all work. The name Kites & Crows actually is inspired from the production of Coriolanus, where the recently banished battle hero is hiding out "...under the canopy...in the city of kites and crows..."

Kites & Crows main fanbase stretches from Seattle to San Francisco at popular venues, local theatres and offer many performances to enthusiastic audiences at wineries and vineyards on the West Coast.

She Hangs the Moon

Written By: M. Caruso

SHE HANGS THE MOON

Tethered at the feet
With hollow pocket hope
And though I try I can’t free up my rope,
Miss forget-me-not
Gave hers a go,
It unraveled like a wagon down the slope,

She hangs the moon up on the wall with a string
She hangs the moon
She hangs the moon up on the wall with a string
She hangs the moon

Didn’t want her to go,
She didn’t stop to trade
Any wicked good arrangements we made,
With the bells of spring,
A packed wagon load
So, we couldn’t wait much longer I suppose,

She hangs the moon up on the wall with a string
She hangs the moon
She hangs the moon up on the wall with a string
She hangs the moon

Who am I to shape it
The best time to escape here,

She hangs the moon up on the wall with a string
She hangs the moon

Miss forget- me- not,
She didn’t stop to trade
Any wicked good arrangements we made

Paper Chains

Written By: Michael Caruso

caught swinging from paper chains
I won't pretend I'm safe
my slice of time's cut thin
one slip and this trip caves in

I can't swing from these paper chains
I won't pretend I'm safe
look out below
I think I might let go
hanging above the flames
I can't swing from these paper chains...

blood stained and singled out
heavy steps over hollow ground
trapped thoughts and cloudy eyes
an easy target with a thin disguise

I can't swing from these paper chains
I won't pretend I'm safe
look out below
I think I might let go
hanging above the flames
I can't swing from these paper chains...

I'm dropping the slack in the water
it's not that I 'd fall any farther
it's just hard to track my place on the map
and it haunts me too much to look back

I can't swing from these paper chains
I won't pretend I'm safe
look out below
I think I might let go
hanging above the flames
I can't swing from these paper chains...

I can't swing from these paper chains
I can't swing from these paper chains

Found Some Color

Written By: Michael Caruso

You had a lone year of black & white
I saved my color for you to try
Now that we have a plan
We’ll paint a picture from where we stand
Without a warning we’ll take the chance
Step by step, hand in hand

Go on and tell your mother
You found some color
Well you’ve been taking your time to design your life
But now you thought you would try to decide if you’d like
To be filling the lines with a love like mine
Go on and tell your mother
You found some color
You found some color

I watched it happen overnight
A thousand pictures paint your mind
Still so wet and colors run
We’ll paint a picture from where we stand
Without a warning we’ll take the chance
Step by step, hand in hand

Go on and tell your mother
You found some color
Well you’ve been taking your time to design your life
But now you thought you would try to decide if you’d like
To be filling the lines with a love like mine
Go on and tell your mother
You found some color
You found some color

Go on and tell your mother
You found some color
Well you’ve been taking your time to design your life
But now you thought you would try to decide if you’d like
To be filling the lines with a love like mine
Go on and tell your mother
You found some color
You found some color

New Way To Believe

Written By: Michael Caruso

we should move our lives from here
cut 'em loose and spin their wheels
what we've done has been fun
but you're the one who says
you're ready to be free

we should move our lives from here
while we still have hours to clear
just admit, there's a space
that separates where we are and being free

so far we've found
all we hear is the sound
of our hearts jumping round a flame
a moment to taste
the dreams that we chase
we find a new way to believe

we won't end before we start
we don't have to make this hard
are you ready.? can you picture
all our misplaced ways and means coming back?

so far we've found
all we hear is the sound
of our hearts jumping round a flame
a moment to taste
the dreams that we chase
we find a new way to believe

Little Glass Baby Doll

Written By: Michael Caruso

Wrap me up behind the curtains
I’m lost and I am cold
I caught the curse I’ve got my arms full
Way too much to hold
I drop the bags and run away far
faster with no load
I’m a fragile package hold me
Steady on the road

I’m a little glass baby doll

Navigate with a broken lantern
barefoot on the trail
left my home to thieves and hunters
riding on my tail
I need a place to take my shakes down
Still I’m way too frail

I'm a little glass baby doll

hold me steady on the road

I'm a little glass baby doll
I'm a little glass baby doll

hold me steady on the road
hold me steady on the road
