The Kites of Saturn are a New York City Based ensemble that fuses together an eclectic mix of styles, producing a unique brand of artistic Rock music with heavy components of Classical and Jazz styles. Comprised of an electric violinist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer/percussionist, with their eclectic sound, they have performed at a wide range of venues, from New York City's world famous Webster Hall to performing arts centers, colleges, and schools around the country. They've been featured in "Broadway World" and "Knocks from the Underground", and in October of 2010, The Kites were selected to travel to South Korea to perform with American pop star Zahra Universe, and Grammy nominated Cameroonian artist Wes Madiko, backing them up in a new international music festival. The four members have studied at renowned music conservatories and received degrees in Classical and Jazz Performance and composition. Individually, they have already led very diverse and multi-faceted careers, especially for their young age, teaching and performing all over the world.

Coming from very different musical backgrounds, The quartet met in the musical melting pot that is New York City while studying Classical and Jazz performance at New York University.

Jazz Guitarist, Douglas Bradford, began his studies in his Native New Orleans, cutting his teeth in the birthplace of Jazz, playing and studying with some of the country's greatest musicians.

Bassist Evan Crane, heavily influenced by hip-hop and experimental improvisation brings an extremely organic approach to groove and his creative freedom forms the delicate and carefully thought out harmonic underpinning of the group.

As Classically trained violinist, Josh Henderson has performed all over the world in several different genres, he also brings to the table his love and appreciation of all musical arts and enthusism for the integration of styles.

Dually trained in both Classical Percussion and Jazz Drumming, Rick Martinez can be seen playing a plethora of styles ranging from instrumental metal to Beethoven symphonies to bebop standards.

The broad scope of the Kite's music allows them to perform at a multitude of venues and not only your typical rock or jazz club. They very much enjoy performing in schools, universities, and concert halls while giving master classes in performance, composition, and simply on life as a musician.

Our goal as performers is to introduce and shed new light on the styles of Jazz and Classical music to audiences young and old by infusing them with modern sensibilities. We simultaneously pay homage to the Classical and Jazz traditions of the past while playing new compositions composed by members of the ensemble in these traditional styles.
