Kitty Boy is fronted by songwriter and vocalist Annie Cook. Session musicians on the album include members of the Washington, D.C.-area indie band Sam Cooper & The Sleepwalkers, fresh off their own CD release, “Overmorrow,” at D.C.'s Rock’n’Roll Hotel. Kitty Boy is slated to make its first live appearance on the Columbia Road main stage at Adams Morgan Day in D.C.,Sunday, September 8, 1:40 – 2:10 p.m.
Annie Cook is originally from Martha’s Vineyard. She has written music since the age of 16, and performed as a lead and backup vocalist with regional artists such as Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, as well as studying jazz. Kitty Boy instrumentalists are drawn from a broad network of musicians from all over the United States.
