"The Kitty That Never Sleeps"

Kitty Devine

If you're in Chicago, or wherever they are, see this band. Solid and poetic rock music. Original work that cuts across the same lines as Patti Smith, the Smithereens, the Kinks and/or Concrete Blonde. A sense of roots, but contemporary and not derivative. Mere radio rock or rehashed pop music--not at all. These are the core elements of universal creation: guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocal. Kitty Devine twists/bends/breaks past models in favor of passionate and true passages of bread-basket rock that has a real edge, unequivocal musical sense, and opens veins as needed. Imaginative, fun and precise. Stories worth telling. Mature themes for a discriminating audience. A sense of discovery and fire, but not pretentious. The real thing...Kitty Devine. - Rob Koehler

Steve Hayes, keyboards Steve Hayes, unequivocally the most mature and technically talented of Kitty Devine and the Big Whoop, brings years of experience to this, his latest band membership. Credits include Sector Q, Voodoo Poodle and the Andalusian Dogs. From Minneapolis to Boston to Chicago, Steve hears what others wish and plays what others wish they could.

Phil Costello, bass and vocals Phil Costello, "The Poet," is a founding member of the Andalusian Dogs and mastermind behind Kitty Devine. He finds his creative prowess in penning passionate ballads and running intricate bass lines. Born on Chicago's West Side and embued with a proud Irish heritage, Phil uses his Jesuit infused intellect to keep the band's integrity and balance in check.
