Bio

This would probably sound better if I had some freelance writer assist me with my bio, but I rather "make like my music" and keep it personal.I was born as Howard Jones jr. in Minneapolis, MN, but I was raised in Syracuse, NY. As my parents only child,I was left with idle time to experiment with my imagination. Although I never had an imaginary friend, my creative side was directed more towards creating potions, mixing and matching lotions, bleach, prescription medicine, etc. I guess this is important because today I find myself repeating that same behavior, except with music. I love all genres of music, even country. At the age of 13 my father introduced me to poetry. In fact, I was entered into a NY State poetry competition. I had to learn and recite Shel Silverstien's "Crocodile and the Dentist". I practiced with my father and ended up winning first place in my age group. My love of poetry and words soon developed into songwriting. I naturally was attracted to Hip-Hop because the rhyming of words in this art sounded the most like the poetry I would read and write. Thanks to artists like Andre 3000 and Kanye West, I too have embraced my uniqueness and now I look to experiment with different sounds and genres in my music.Currently, I'm working on an EP called "The Elevator". I try to keep my music thought provoking in the concepts, approach, lyrics, delivery, and in the production. I use sarcastic lyrics to get my point across and put passion behind my words to emit feeling. I like being poetic but also deep through simplicity. I'm looking to push Hip-Hop forward and to be progressive. I fight complacency, conformity, and my mission is to celebrate every one's God-Given uniqueness. My music is created to motivate and inspire others to deal with themselves first, and then the environment around them. My music is different, thought provoking, fun, and I hope you enjoy it.
