KL Patterson

Whether KL Patterson is singing to a room full of people or a room all to herself, one thing clear - she has a Nashville dream as big as Texas. Raised in a small country town in Northeast TX and growing up listening to traditional country music with her father, she became passionate for entertaining at the age of seven.

"I always begged my family to listen to me sing. I would bring my toy boom box and microphone and just start singing to strangers. I just loved to entertain and that part of me will never change." she says. KL spent her youth traveling around Texas with her parents and performing at every Opry House she could get her hands on. She soon found another passion in a different style of singing - "I heard Cattle Call by Eddie Arnold on the radio and I fell in love right then and there. I had to learn it. And soon enough, I taught myself how to yodel." KL sang all of her early years and found her true calling - country music. She learned the ropes of performing, participated in countless voice competitions and even won the "Rural American Idol" at age eleven. She loved every bit of it but was ready to take her music to a whole new level.

As soon as new doors opened for KL Patterson's music career, she received the most devastating news a little girl could hear - She lost her father in a car accident. "It's hard to picture life without the person who has believed in your dream since day one and sadly that's exactly what I lived through. On my hard days, I just remember about the one person who always believed in me and it gets me through it." At only age eleven, KL had no one to grieve to and all she had was her voice and her guitar. She found her way to the "songwriting world" shortly after. And at that very moment, KL sat down with her guitar and wrote her very first song within 15 minutes.

Today, KL has a true love for songwriting and has found the unique country music artist within her. Not only is songwriting her favorite "therapy", but she writes inspirational songs that capture your heart and soul from the moment you hear her.

Now where might an energetic 19 year old country girl, power singer, songwriter, yodeler and musician from Texas fit into this world? KL Patterson fits right into the country music industry, along with her very own style often called the "KL sound" and angelic, pure voice. She is currently in the studio working on her very first single that will be released in January of 2013.
