The best kept secret in music

"Party Waiting to happen"

“With its loud, energetic, big, sexy songs, this is where Knee Deep In Grass shone. And they sounded like the Grateful Dead long before they did Wharf Rat. This is a Flat-out, stone-cold hippie band. The lead guitarist looked and sounded like he was having the time of his life and the vibe was very infectious. This is a party ready to happen, and now we know what kind of grass they’re knee deep in....”--

"Knee Deep At Last"

Although they've been performing in and around Edmonton for nearly 10 years, I don't think Knee Deep In Grass expected their show at the Sidetrack Cafe Last weekend to sell out. But by 9:30 p.m., unhappy fans of the local southern rockers were being turned away while the party inside swelled with excitement. Knee Deep In Grass was finally releasing their first album 5% Domestic and anybody who knows them came out to support their efforts. Tattoo artists, hockey players, fellow musicians, fans, friends and family packed the spacious venue and kept the dance floor a swirl of life all night. As an added bonus, Knee Deep in Grass's "beeramid" was on display for the occasion. Standing about two meres high, the pyramid of empty Black Label beer cans exemplifies what it took to fuel the band and their recording engineers through the making of their first record.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Formed in high school, Knee Deep in Grass has been Fusing Rock, Ska, Funk and anything else they like into a distinct sound. They have been rocking venues across Alberta for the better part of a decade. With there diverse styles and varying influences Knee Deep has developed a sound that's all there own. Influences ranging from the Grateful Dead to Candiria and everything in-between. Looking to tour in support of there debut CD "5% Domestic" Knee Deep is a hardworking band that will keep the BOOTIES shaken till last call.
