Knights of Faris

Growing up in central Florida, and quickly realizing that music was a passion, the Faris brothers began playing at a young age and formed various local bands in high school. Attending the University of Florida and having some of their roots spawn from the “grunge” era, musical influences include bands such as Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead, yet also have more classic pop/rock/alternative influences such as U2, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles. More recent influences include artists such as Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, and the Foo Fighters.

After crossing paths with long-time friend and bassist Brian H., the trio formed the Alternative Rock band "Velocity Nein" in college.

After taking a break from music for many years to pursue more traditional careers, they have recently had the opportunity to join together once again and are now collaborating as an acoustic duet, and also occasionally as a trio with Brian joining on bass. They play a vast array of cover songs from their original repertoire as well as introducing newer songs, many of which can be heard on the radio today.

One Faris Bro performs lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and also plays different percussive instruments such as bongos/congas, tambourine, etc. He has played drums for over 20 years, picked up the acoustic guitar in recent years, and also occasionally dabbles in piano.

The other Faris Bro plays lead guitar, and sings backup vocals. He is a natural song-writer and was the driving force behind the musical and lyrical scope of their college Alternative Rock band Velocity Nein, and their self titled debut album.

Brian plays bass and also sings backup vocals. His collaboration was instrumental in Velocity Nein and continues to add depth and ideas to the current acoustic set. Brian also specializes in photography, videography, and his technical know-how and keen ear in the sound room and on the mixer are second to none.

Currently, the Faris brothers reside in the Tampa Bay area, Brian lives in Ocala, and are actively pursuing playing out at local venues and establishments.
