"The Three Tier Show Extravaganza: Earl Greyhound, Cavalier Rose, and Knights On Earth"

"The night began with Knights On Earth opening, and I was able to witness the rock /blues fusion in a more traditional light...Knights On Earth however are a bands’ band. They create the blues feel by actually incorporating the twelve-bar blues chord progression into their music, so the sound is sincerely bluesy without the pretention. A rhythm guitar blew in a whisper of a reggae-tone, and it was awesome. Who knew the Bob Marley would mesh with Bob Dylan?...All three acts complemented each other beautifully. My favorite were Knights On Earth. " - www.bestnewbands.com

"Record Release Show"

"[The record release show at Le Poisson Rouge] did make me run through a gamut of emotions, but mostly a strong desire to experience this kind of unbridled transcendental bloodletting again... these are wildly talented musicians who listen to souls and make the world a better place for all those with ears." - Charis Shafer - www.ybny.com

"Knights on Earth at LPR"

"The quartet killed the packed house, playing through most of their new album move slow, life ends. Fronted by the always-amazing guitarist/vocalist Grey Mcmurray, they also had a secret weapon in Mike Williams, whose bass trumpet/flugelhorn gave them a Bell Orchestre-like sheen. But, just in case any of us missed the point, they surprised us late in their set by bringing out a six piece brass ensemble that sounded dangerously close to Gabriel blowing his final horn. Overpowering and thrilling." - Peter Matthews - www.feastofmusic.com

"Album Review"

"Knights of Earth transitions smoothly between atmospheric post-rock and chilled out blues – it’s not something you hear often (or ever), but damned if it doesn’t work wonderfully." - www.stereozeitgeist.com

Bio

together we are the musical band of humans called knights on earth. individually, we have played or recorded with spoon, gil scott-heron, phil ramone, antibalas, chromeo and charlie hunter among many other wonderful humans.

we started playing together at the beginning of 2008. through a monthly residency at rockwood music hall in manhattan, we quickly came to care deeply for and believe in this band.

arvo part, stevie wonder, gillian welch, david bazan, paul motian, tom petty, miles davis, sigur ros among many many others have greatly effected our musical hearts.

each member of this band has toured all of the world in different projects. we all believe that this band has the same traveling destiny. we spent much of 2009 working on our debut album, in the hope that it will aid our sonic presence in the world and help us play to ears far from our home.

we all play music for a living and we will play this music all over the earth for the rest of our time here.
