Knives

Knives is a contemporary jazz group comprised of seasoned professionals and up and coming musicians from the Canadian jazz scene. The group draws from a wide variety of influences from Doctor John to Herbie Hancock to Radiohead.  The group balances progressive sounds while remaining grounded in the rich traditions of Jazz, New Orleans and afro-Cuban music. The group was created by drummer Brennan Saul who was looking for creative ways of pushing the boundaries of modern music. Having worked extensively with such varied artists as Brasstronaut, Steve Kirby and Edo Van Breemen, Saul wanted young innovators that could bring unique attributes to an original ensemble. With these players he seems to have put together an amazing ensemble.
