"Listen To Knock Knock Ginger Immediately"

[C]atchy, upbeat pop songs, combining jangly melodies with keyboards and vocals that are ever-so-slightly influenced by post-punk, with the end result being something that's absolutely irresistible. Or listen to "Margot, Don't Be A Hero"...or "August Has The Cruelest Mouth"...or "If You Recall, I Spent That Summer In Rome"...or, really any of the songs on here, since there's not a weak one in the bunch. - iheartmusic.net

"Concert Reviews (CMW)"

With nothing but simple pop songs and an eagerness to rock out as hard as they possibly could, Waterloo’s Knock Knock Ginger proved themselves as more than just a capable indie rock band in their first appearance in the city. Similar in style to early Lowest of the Low or the Weakerthans, the band’s occasional use of trumpet helped flesh out their already ample sound. At the core of their solid musicianship, however, was a set of well-written pop songs whose perfect setting in the band made for an immensely enjoyable listening experience. - Exclaim! Canada's Music Authority

"Based On a True Story (Review)"

Attaching crystal-clean guitars to succinct pop song structures before finally coupling it all with intelligible lyric
sheets, KKG take pride in their uptempo, unaffected amalgam of
’60s Britpop and the cleaner side of the American underground circa
1988. Right from the very beginning, the band sashays its way
through the likes of “Love Renee,” “Upsala” and “The Makeout Song”
with their heads held high and presents the most ear-pleasing pop
released in a while with no modest excuses. - Pulse Niagra - Niagra's Weekly Alternative

"Knock Knock Ginger Love The Internet"

[M]eet Knock Knock Ginger, up-and-coming indie-pop darlings from Waterloo, Ontario. Their second EP, Based On A True Story, is an excellent collection of deceptively jaunty pop numbers that beat with the heart of a romantic cynic (or is that a cynical romantic?) and contain the kind of intelligent lyrics one might expect from a band with two members currently working on Master's degrees. Already a college radio hit, the album has been selling well and getting the band noticed far and wide, thanks in large part to the internet. The band owes a particular debt to CBC Radio 3's popular weekly podcasts, on whose playlists the group have become a familiar sight. - ChartAttack.com

The new album is available as a free download from the band's website, knockknockginger.com.

They have previously recorded two acclaimed EPs at the House of Miracles with Andy Magoffin: Hurry! in 2005 and Based on a True Story in 2006. Both EPs were released on Waterloo's Dadmobile Records.

Both EPs received airplay on CBC Radio One and Radio 3 and various college stations, with the latter peaking at #9 on the national Earshot! chart and producing a top 10 single, “Love Renée”, on the CBC Radio 3 countdown show. This success saw the band share the stage with noted acts such as The Hidden Cameras, Gentleman Reg, and The Most Serene Republic, as well as being interviewed for Chart Attack Magazine and CBC Radio 3. They were also invited to play at the 2007 Halifax Pop Explosion Festival.

Knock Knock Ginger always wants to visit new and exciting places and hopes you will come see them when they make it to your town.
