“ (…) this abstract jazz trio was fronted by a very unusual scatting stylist, flitting around in front of a pared-down backing band of just a Hammond organ and an array of drums. She's surely set for stardom.” – Martin Longley - The Independent

A fashionless delight. - Terz.org

suveren i framføringa.
Kobert! - Roald Helgheim - Dagsavisen

”It is quiet and loud at the same time. And it is incredibly beautiful, even though the musicians don’t try to be too kind to the audience at all. There are no cheap or flimsy solutions. It is new and at the same time easily accessible.” – Ola Nøst - Romsdals Budstikke

Bio

Kobert entered a new era as a band with its latest record “Invasion of Privacy” released by Impeller recordings – a new sublabel by Propeller recordings (Hanne Hukkelberg ea.). The music was composed along the way while recording in studio, retaining the immediacy of live performance even as the production and sound was perfected. The trio also sounds fresh on this record as the original lineup of vocals, organ and drums are accompanied by their electronic counterparts – vocal sampler, drum machine and an array of synthesizers. All in all this adds up to be the most complete and thorough record by Kobert to this date.

Earlier in 2009 Kobert also released another acclaimed recording together with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. This was based on a large commission work performed at Molde Int. Jazz Festival in 2008, for which Kobert put together a “dream team” of musicians to form a 16-piece orchestra. The Molde performance turned out a great success and was broadcast several times on radio. The 2009 release was the result after superproducer Kåre Vestrheim at Propeller studios was given carte blanche in making an album out of this music.

Kobert has been playing clubs and festivals in Europe since 2003, and in 2006 they released their critically acclaimed debut CD entitled “Glowing”:
“Nobody else sounds like Kobert” – puls.no
“The freshness and playfulness is obvious.” – Bergens Tidene
