"Ko-Lition De-Lo"

"...K.O.-Lition hopes to bring hip-hop back to the days where shit wasn't about portraying an image that you're not. They want to bring back the fun, partying, and even some food for thought..." - Agela Mack

"Ka-Son in the Jukebox"

"The music for the Artist’s Reception was provided by Ko-Lition which is a hip hop duo consisting of Delo and K. Briggs who are also the brothers of the Artist. Their performance was lively and enjoyable even for those of us who are old enough to enjoy listening to the oldies stations while at the same time dreading them as we remember when the songs first came out. You’ll find more photographs in the Main Street Jukebox 2011 Gallery at www.facebook.com/forwardian.dude." - Paul Adam Smeltz

"KO-Lition Cover Waxwire Magazine"

“The two feed off one another on stage, never hiding behind their performance and using the mic to address their audience directly, telling the background stories to songs in their lineup. High energy, arms swinging, eyes closed, fingers pointed and hitting on every beat, the two are storytellers. With idols like Tupac Shakur, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Biggie Smalls, Lupe Fiasco and Mos Def, it’s no wonder. They manage to capture an emotional depth with their set’s song choices, beginning with banger “Going Off” to get the crowd going, dipping into spoken word and an emotional track, before kicking it back up again, with a high-energy bit featuring a guitar solo.“

"Social Notice: KO-Lition"

“Nominated for Best Hip-Hop/Rap Artist and Best R&B/Soul Artist for the 2012 Indie Music Awards Nominee Showcase, Ko-Lition, sways their audience with their rhythmic production. Entrapping us in their futuristic hold, while captivating our minds in verse. True believers that hard work will pay off, their hunger is everlasting."Personal Legend", a personal favorite, denounces the "Willie Lynch Syndrome", engaging negative forces and breaking through barriers. While we become entwined on their track, "Blindsided", a narrative about one-sided love, given in the male prospective about their unwillingness to be trapped by emotion. With a turnaround track, "Robotz", the beat gets your body, ready to bust a move. A Brooklyn anthem, supported by lyrical talents and creative beats. "Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way".” - CJC

Bio

"When you grow up in a three bedroom apartment with eight children and one parent, you tend to share everything with each other, especially a Love for Music." From Jazz to Classic Soul, Hip Hop to Electro Rock, Blues to Dance, the Duo Ko-Lition grew up loving and appreciating the late Greats and well-known independents. With a love for lyricism and great storytellers like Biggie, 2Pac, Slick Rick, and Jay-Z, they soon developed a taste for Hip Hop and began writing and spitting their own stories to friends and family.

Tales of Brooklyn days, low-income living, and young adulthood would transform two adolescent city Boys into intelligent thinkers. They reached out to anyone who would listen and were eventually picked up by Brothers and Sisters Entertainment (BSE) where they were able to really bring out their talent through showcases all over the East Coast like BET's 106th and Park, BB Kings, and Public Assembly.

Duo has since venture out on their own and created their own production company, See Music Live LLC which embodies the importance of astonishing and energetic stage presence as well as their vision of where they want to see music go in the years to come. Ko-Lition have been performing in various night lounges, clubs, and showcases throughout the area including Webster Hall, Drom NYC for Hot 97's Mic Check Wednesdays and most recently winning 'Best Hip Hop Artist' for the Artist in Music Awards 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. They're making their mark spreading their Hip Hop/Jazz/Electro sound with their Debut album 'Love Jazz Robotz. Songs like Blindsided Featuring the angelic voice of Raine, Must Be Robotz, and Personal Legend all tell great personal stories with powerful instrumentation for the listening ear. The lesson is 'See Music Live… It's Bigger Than Hearing It.'

Meet the Guys

DE-LO

You can call his passionate, vivid, witty, blaring lyrics; cunning, gripping, intelligent and inspiring. One thing you can't say about De-Lo is that he's ‘whack'. His love for crafting metaphors, lyrics and flows stems from his love for story writing at age 7. Starting out by writing fictional tales, he soon would fall in love with hip hop and collaborate great stories with great beats, to create dope songs. With aliases like 'Mister Skywalker' and '60 Degrees Too Cool' De-Lo maintains a cool demeanor, that is until he hits the stage where he feels '...the most at home and comfortable. When I'm up there, nothing is staged. I'm just sharing my stories. Its one of the most honest and vulnerable moments in my life. Whether its happy, angry, saddened or reflective, it's all true emotion.'

K BRIGGS

First felt the lyrical bug in Elementary school when he wrote a rhyme about black history month. It was so well received that he felt like it was the start of something hot. He honed his skills over the years, even incorporating his love into his schoolwork (he once wrote a paper in JHS analyzing the verses of De La Soul’s “Millie Pulled a Gun on Santa”, complete with an audio presentation of the song to his class). As his young maturity grew, he continued listening to the greats in hip-hop, developing his lyrical and story-telling ability. Though mostly in a party mood, his lyrics are thoughtful, fun, yet strong, serious and intelligent. He is one of the main creative heads behind the development of Ko-Lition overall style.
