The name Komo refers to his Father a figure of admiration in his life. An adaptation of his surname, Komolafe that means to teach beauty, passion and in Komo’s words swag.

Born in Nigeria and raised in North London, Komo is a multi-talented music artist. Komo began his musical career at the tender age eight. His talent began to develop in his local church. Whilst performing in the church choir, Komo advanced to writing original material, singing soprano and tenor, playing the drums, djembe and the conga. The inception of his career began with appearances on MTV & BBC as a television personality. Starring in documentaries based on his daily events, views on life and musical journey.

After receiving raving reviews from his last single ‘African Woman’ produced by Captain Music, Komo is back with a new song titled ‘Call My Name’ produced by Ayo Beatz for his supporters and fans. After his professional music career kicked off in the UK in 2013, Komo was inspired to go back to basics by travelling back home to reconnect with his native roots and inspire his unique sound. He commenced an extensive tour of Nigeria, which consisted of live performances, popular TV, radio interviews, and club tours.

Being a strong vocalist and fantastic instrumentalist has enabled him to produce unique sounds across various genres; finding inspiration from legendary musicians such as King Sunny Adé, Lágbájá and Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Citing personal inspiration from popular acts like Asa, Akon, Flo Rider, Sway Dasafo and D'Banj, giving credence to their versatile styles of music. Being able to rap, sing, produce and play percussion instrument simultaneously, Komo continues to gain momentum and recognition for his artistry, showing his strength lies within his ability to diversify within the entertainment industry.
