BandAlternative

New millennial song constructionist who creates avantgarde pop from the strains of indie, folk and electro.

Biography

Konrad is the American song constructionist Jeffrey Konrad who puzzles together his unique brand of vocal poetics with a sorted sonic DNA that exhibits strains of indie, folk and electro. In the past he's recorded as an experimental electronica musician known as "Robot USA" as well as a folksy singer-songwriter called "Nigel Jeffrey". In mid-2000 Konrad launched Radical Turf Records; an imprint founded with the intent of releasing compilation albums by underground electronic artists. 3 compilations and 2 full lengths later, the label continues to evolve as a medium for eclectic and eccentric audio. Konrad's debut album "Loose Canyons" was released on Radical Turf in 2008. The album made it's debut on the CMJ Top 200 chart upon it's release. Konrad is currently finishing up a new album which is expected to arrive in late 2009.

kites

Kites

Woke up with a panic attack, and I prayed you might come back to me.
But I know it’s all a part of my fantasy.
It’s hard to fall in love with somebody who thinks it’s just another meal, another page in a magazine.
After breakfast I took a hike. Through the park where we used to fly kites. I fed our Squirrel he asked me “how are you?”
It’s hard to fall in love. With somebody who’s in love with drugs. It’s so predictable like a rerun.
After supper I went to bed, dreaming things I never had. Dreams without you and without you.

Kites. Our love was higher than kites.

Canyon Blue

Canyon Blue

I'm riding horseback and the law is on my trail. Been robbing town square banks from Richmond to Des Moines. All of my posse has been killed or is in jail and the only friend I have's this horse named Sunday. I'll quit this life before I'm old but first I've gotta grab some gold before I settle down with you in Tempe. Cause darling if your there for me I'll put this pistol down to sleep and buy a patch of land and raise some cattle. But first I've gotta make it there and 19 counties bridge us dear and all of them's got posters with my bounty. So if perchance I meet my end before I reach your arms again remember that your virtue nearly saved me.

Canyon Blue - watch out for rattlers up ahead
Canyon Blue - watch out for engines 'round the bend
Canyon Blue - watch out the hangman wants your neck

Girls Gone Wild

Girls Gone Wild

Marching Ants. 1234 step in line.
Now’s the time to burn the pants, off the bad guy, step in line.
Marching Ants. 1234 step in line.
Not from the hair of my chinny chin chin. Evil doers step aside.

Pause the war. All we needs a little girls gone wild.
Maybe just a little bit of ooh ooh ooh, ah ah ah, yeah yeah yeah
Pause the war. All we needs a little girls gone wild.
Maybe just a little bit of ooh ooh ooh, ah ah ah, yeah yeah yeah

Marching Ants. 1234 step aside.
Independence got the mic. Flush the hype. Crop is ripe.
Marching Ants. 1234 step aside.
Eanie Meanie Meanie Meanie Minie moe.
Fee-Fie-Foe-Foe-Yo-Yo-Yo.

Litigate

Written By: Konrad

Litigate

With spider crawling endless gnawing on the rope that ties the dead.
End of stories ever present in the momentary hold.
Captured glories ever soaring over roof tops in the hood.
Windows snowing dosing bily as the petrol rounds the bend.
With cornered commentaries strife is slowly basking in the same.
Ritualistic repetition that is running through the brain.
Phoning my lawyer and I’m ready to just straight up litigate.
Because to sue you would just prove a point that I would like to make.

And like a spider crawling up the wall I’m seeing you ascend.
And the only regret that I have is that I just lost a friend.
And as the morning gives you ample opportunity to bend.
So does, so does, so does, so does

Osh Kosh

Osh Kosh

Oh lord help us now, finger on the crack of a leaking dam. Oh please, help us now...5 4 3 2 1 count down. Oh snap, who's to blame? Crack in the sky bleeding crooked rain. Osh Kosh, whats the deal with this scam?
Love. (could it save us?)
Lost. (on our suicidal ship.)
Hope. (could it pave this?)
Road. (underneath our aimless step.)

Oh shoot, pull the plug, flip the script cause weve come undone. Ah crap, hit the fan, 5 4 3 2 1 Amen. Oh stop. Who's to blame, last twig placed on a dwindlin flame. Osh Kosh, why's the map torn in shreds?
Love. (could it save us?)
Lost. (on our suicidal ship.)
Hope. (could it pave this?)
Road. (underneath our aimless step.)
