Biography

Kontraband(formerly known as "The Franchize") is a 6 piece band based out of Indianpolis. We blend hip-hop, rock, and funk music at full speed and have called it, "Mash-Up" music. Described as a "musical tsunami" we continue to attract a diverse following by being able to play alongside any style of music or artist. After the departure of some of the founding members of The Franchize, lead singer Nate Davis released his solo album, "Party Starter' and began touring with drummer Leon Kittrell, aka QuikSticks, John Souki, quitar phenom, and original Franchize member, DJ Unorthodox. With those pieces in place and the encouragement of the new members, the group added bass player, Jeremy Taylor and keyboard plater, Aaron Ashe to create Kontraband. Collectively, some career highlights include opening or playing with artists such as Usher, Mary Mary, Bo Diddly, Johnatan Butler, Bones Thugs N Harmony, Stone Temple Pilots, and most recently, Ludacris at The playboy Mansion. Our group has already gained a reputation as one of the hottest, independent, diverse bands in the midwest.

Kontaband is "Mash-Up" music at it's finest. We provide a polished sound and our mission is to make every show one that the audience will remember.
