Bio

My father was the biggest influence on my music; in fact, his drug addiction led to the creation of my alternate persona: KontraDikshun. Music was (and in many ways still is) an outlet for me to deal with the constant disappointment, hunger and anger that I faced growing up in Atlanta, Ga.

Rap music appealed to me the most, due to the honest nature of it. Public Enemy, NWA, Kool G. Rap and KRS-One influenced me lyrically; Dr. Dre, Marley Marl, The Bomb Squad, DJ Quik, DJ Premier, Erick Sermon and Prince Paul made me want to become a producer as well.

After much practice and patience, I hit the clubs in the Atlanta area. Initially, my music wasn't well received because it was nothing like what was popular at the time (this was during the No Limit/Cash Money era of the mid to late 1990's). The environment wasn't prepared for a musician that was different; most of the club patrons wanted more of the same.

I stuck to my guns and released an underground CD with The Ghostryddaz ("EastSyde A-T-Hell", circa 1999), which featured me as a producer (along with Hollywood) and lead lyricist. We sold over a thousand copies on word of mouth in the greater Atlanta area (which provided a great sense of vindication); however, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth so I focused on production and DJ-ing with Ralow Smith. After much prodding from Ralow, I decided to give it one more shot; but this time as a solo artist. The results are contained in the EP titled "My Addikshun...Tha Short Version", which will feature 7 songs (snippets are available on this EPK).

Anyone that takes the time to listen will see that my music is original, unique and (most importantly...hehe) marketable. The proceeds from this cd are being used to fund the regional release of a full-length CD ("The 5K Theory...Kash, Kane, Kut-up, Klubbin' & Killin') by Summer 2006.

I'm currently looking for a label imprint deal, with a reasonable amount of advance monies to properly set up staff for my independent label (Dry Bones Entertainment). Yet, if the right circumstances presented themselves, I would avail myself to signing an artist contract.
