Bio

Citing influences from Green Day to Guns N’ Roses and Nirvana to The Beatles, KOOPA create a vibrant Indie-like, yet Punk-inspired sound, well suited for Britpop and alternative rock fans alike. Ollie Cooper [vocals/guitar], Joe Murphy [Vocals/bass], and Stu Cooper [drums] formed KOOPA in Essex, England, in 2002.

KOOPA made UK Chart history in January 2007 by becoming the first ever unsigned band to have a Top 40 hit. The download-only single 'Blag, Steal and Borrow' made it into the charts at Number 31.

A remarkable achievement, a place in UK music history and an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. And then…… they did it AGAIN! In June 2007, Koopa’s single “One Off Song For The Summer” entered the Official UK Singles Chart at number 21, number 12 in the Download Chart and as high as number 8 in the UK Rock Singles Chart.

KOOPA have a sound, which is both commercial and anthemic without being too saccharine sweet. Listen to KOOPA and you realise that this is not that watered-down, manufactured sound designed to impress your younger brother, little sister and please your parents.
