"Korexion Gets Juno Nob for Reggae"

Celebrating the best in Canadian music, the Juno Awards 2007, crowned Canada's top musicians for 2006 "Maple Leaf" style, in Saskatoon, Saskachewan's Credit Union Centre, on Sunday April 1. Korexion garnered the Juno nod for Best Reggae Recording for his EP, Xrated. Described as an artist on a mission to spread reggae and love worldwide, Korexion created 3 killer tunes on the EP, that the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), voted number one. - YardFlex

In 2005, Korexion released his debut single “It’s All Bless” which has proven itself locally and internationally. This single was on high rotation not only in CAN, but also in Japan, the U.K., the U.S., and in the Caribbean.

The success of this single led to Korexion’s next EP titled “X-Rated” in 2006. This EP has three songs including It’s All Bless, Don’t Go and title track Xrated features fellow reggae artist Danny English. Title track Xrated has been received notably amongst radio listeners and is on continuous rotation on various radio stations locally and abroad. The esteem of these three recordings led to international interest via radio and online radio programs. Radio stations that have continuously played Korexion’s music are:

JUNO award winning artist KOREXION (pronounce as Correction) aka Keipher Scott hails from Trench Town, Jamaica.  Now resides in Toronto, Canada, Korexion represents Canada on the international scene.

Korexion shares his childhood memory and homeland neighbourhood with the spirit of the late Bob Marley.  His very first guitar he ever laid his hands on and began strumming belonged to none other than the legend, Bob Marley. 

Korexion first came to fame after he released his debut single “It’s All Bless”. The inspiring message propelled the single to high rotation on radio and the hit single climbed the charts in Canada, Japan, U.K., U.S., and the Caribbean.

The success of his debut single led to Korexion’s first EP titled “X-Rated” which includes the Juno Award winning title track “X-rated” featuring successful Jamaican artist Danny English. The collaboration was a hit and the title track quickly climbed the record charts overseas and also climbed up to #3 in the Top 100 Reggae Songs in Canada.  

With a prestigious Canadian Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording of the Year along with several other accolades achieved, Korexion is now turning his mind back to his roots.  Passionate about life and the power of  love, in his latest single, "My Vows" Korexion mixed the classic lovers’ rock reggae entwined it with an R&B feel.

His roots are also clearly visible in other singles that were released such as “How Great Thou Art” which is an uplifting spiritual track that embodies cultural reggae and dancehall groove and  also In “Day One Links” where Korexion teamed up with Jamaican artist Jah Lyfe to create this dynamic dancehall inspired track that reminisces about good times with old friends.

Korexion has honed his talents in live performances. His performances have taken place at many notable annual events such as the JUNO Awards, Exit Festival (Serbia, Bosnia), SeaDance Festival (Montenegro), Toronto Caribana Festival and Bob Marley Festivals in Jamaica. Korexion travels regularly to perform on shows that include fellow reggae heavy weights like Sean Paul, Damian Marley, Shaggy, Sizzla, Bares Hammond just to name a few. Korexion also appeared singing ONE LOVE in the motion picture titled MARLEY; a documentary film based on the life and times of Bob Marley.

In all of his music his message remains the same – He is the Korexion changing the world through positive vibration.
