"Trademark fusion"

They have moulded their trademark fusion of Russian Gypsy music, Hot Club-style swing and classical influences into an exciting and dramatic hybrid that is both virtuosic and energised with room for humour.. - The Scotsman

"Dazzling fiddle derring-do that's not just flashy fingerwork"

Two violinists have teamed up with jazz guitarist Nigel Clark to bring us a heady, brilliantly theatrical and explosive confection..the agile interplay between the musicians is an unfailing delight... all the music here has a grin on its face - sometimes broad and sometimes sly.
This is virtuoso playing indeed, designed to draw well-deserved applause from an open-mouthed audience, but it's human too, both moving and great fun. - Songlines Magazine

"Complex, inspired.."

Most of the material comes from Oleg Ponomarev, who's an inspired, complex writer....
.. often they manage to sound like five or six musicians, always dazzling, fingers flying - but without the music ever appearing crowded or the melodies becoming lost. With this, their second disc, they've really achieved greatness. - ALL Music Guide .com

"The chemistry between the three performers creates a mesmerizing mix of
virtuosity, playfulness and emotional intensity which should not be missed."

"The charming Lev Atlas, fiery Oleg Ponomarev and Nigel Clark are all virtuosi;
the violins agile and by turns soaring and brooding, the guitar astoundingly fluent with a plectrum on nylon strings. Gypsy jazz, achingly beautiful Russian airs,
cafe-style music, and some pieces in homage to the Hot Club style of Grapelli and Reinhardt." - BBC SCOTLAND

"Tones and timbres...."

"Their version of World, Gypsy and Jazz sends a huge emotional surge that never lets up, twinned with masterly musicianship and an extraordinary range
of tones and timbres."

"Celtic Connections Ovation"

"KOSHKA's claim to Celtic Connections fame is as the only group to receive two standing ovations at the festival's late-night club......
Mostly...the trio get on with the business of being virtuosos.
The pace varies from doleful, soulful, very Russian ballad through rhythms that quicken with the deliberation of a steam train into blurry fingered stuff that's still played with the great feeling."

"A sublime journey into an amalgam of genres underpinned by breathtaking instrumental virtuosity....
Combining a wealth of experience and talent into a platform of a simple trio, their precision and dexterity seem to outdo the sum of the parts." - IRISH EXAMINER

"Ponomarev and Atlas, both conservatory-trained violinists, united with Clark's wickedly dexterous nylon-strung six string to produce a spectacular mix of fast frantic tunes and slower pieces....
A frantic mixture of genres and styles that showcase the deep well of influences of these three fantastic musicians." - THE CLARE PEOPLE
