Kraken The Case

Kraken The Case is a seven-piece punk/ska band from Ottawa, Ontario. Since their first show kicking off 3-day-long Ottawa Ska Fest in August 2011, the band has performed at many venues across the city. November 2011 marked the release of the band's first self-produced two track demo, and as of May 2012, the band has begun the recording process for their upcoming EP "Farewell To Nova Scotia" (due to be released Summer 2012). The band's music can be described as a combination of punk, reggae and even metal. Their music features an abundance of harmonies and counterparts by both the vocalists and horn section, and their guitarists trade-off lead lines and solos. Standard ska upstrokes are heard in most of their songs, while non-standard time signatures and modal progression changes within the songs showcase their technical metal influences.
