Bio
Kristian Lincoln was first exposed to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Eagles and other last century bands before discovering hip hop. He first discovered rap on Youtube while watching the "McDonalds Rap" by GoRemy in 2007. This inspired Kris to listen to his state's main rap station , 93.7. He would record songs off the radio onto his mp3 player and then write comedic remixes of the songs. As he grew older and experienced more things in life, good and bad, he grew fond of artists such as Lil Wayne, Eminem, Hopsin, Drake, and Earl Sweatshirt. This inspired Kristian to become Kris Vicious at 14. His parents gave him a lenovo laptop for his birthday which he used to record songs on the laptop's built in microphone, audacity, and fruity loops. At 16, he got a job at Chipotle and used his first check to get a microphone and interface. He reached out to Abnormal Area, a local rapper from his hometown around this time via Facebook, and started to make visits to his studio to record and learn. Kris came into the game as a writer, so the production skills didn't come as natural to him. Area also taught Kris the fundamentals of building a brand and making a career as a music artist and this is when Kris first thought of actually pursuing music as more than a hobby. Kris would make songs and put them on Soundcloud for the kids at his high school, while studying the game. His first performance came senior year when he performed a song he wrote for his class, "Class of 15" , at a pep rally. He then came back to the court a few weeks later for a basketball halftime to perform again.
After high school, Kris went on a 3 year hiatus to pursue college and a relationship. In college he studied Music Theory, Music Business, Piano, among other things like American Government, Intro to Business, Sculpture, and Criminal Justice but never pursued a degree. After dropping out of college, and breaking up with his girlfriend, Kris naturally found himself back in the studio working on his rap career. In the beginning of 2018, he moved into a one bedroom apartment in Hartford, and built a booth and studio in the extra room. He began recording new material for a debut mixtape and in August released his debut single, "RAW" followed by his debut mixtape, "Pardon The Interruption". He created two music videos for songs off the tape, "RAW" , and "The Ride" to launch his youtube channel. This new material Kris released caught the attention of high school friend Johnoy Blake AKA BG97. Kris and BG teamed up to create "The SuperBad Collective" in October. They collaborated on tracks such as, "Gasoline" , and "Micheal Cera" , before bringing in more artists, videographers, and other creatives.
In 2019, Kris went on to drop two more projects, "Jaws", and "Wish Me Luck", along with multiple singles and remixes. He also further developed his Youtube Channel by releasing over 10 music videos plus some lyric videos. Kris is now at a new location in CT but he continues to record in his bedroom, also occasionally dropping in on IdkMel and Max Grind's studios. This year Kris also has been at the Stu860 in Enfield, CT operated by John Dillinger working on his debut album, "Going Global". He has surprise features from fellow 860 artists and music videos in the works. Kris has been putting a lot more time into this album , so while his fans wait he dropped 2 more mixtapes this summer, "Jaws 2", and the deluxe version: "Jaws 2.5". From here Kris plans to continue working hard by making great music, networking, marketing, and is really looking forward to performing live more once the virus is over. He is originally from Berlin, CT and currently resides in Hartford but has lived in many different places over the state including West Hartford and Manchester. He also spent some of his childhood at his grandparent's house in North Carolina, and ultimately wants to live in California, Texas, or North Carolina.
