Krisoak

Krisoak, what the hell does it mean? Well it is alternate spelling for Creosote, the black soot that builds up in your chimney or power poles are soaked in. Pretty pointless bit of trivia but that’s where the name is derived from.

Now that is out of the way onto more serious information concerning Krisoak. We are a commercial modern rock band from central Arkansas. Krisoak was started sometime in 2004 with Derek and Joe meeting by coincidence thru a mutual friend. With Derek’s inspiration melodies and Joe’s catchy rhythms, Krisoak was bound to be a powerhouse radio ready group that once you hear you can’t stop thinking about.

It hasn’t been a cake walk thou, shortly after forming the original guitar player and drummer left the project to pursue other opportunities. Krisoak has had numerous drummers, and several guitarists. We found our foundation when Justin was introduced to us thru a mutual friend. Justin had taken a year hiatus from playing drums before coming to audition for us. Within 1 hour of Justin’s audition we knew Justin was the ticket for Krisoak to continue in the direction we have been wanting for some time. The amazing thing about Justin is that he is legally blind! Unbelievably, he is amazing! Listen and see for yourself, all jokes aside, because we are the only ones that can bust on Justin.

Approximately a year ago Derek decided to step back from the Lead Singer position to concentrate strictly on his guitar playing. Since that decision was made Krisoak has searched high and low for the right piece to complete the KRISOAK puzzle. We found the person in the last place we would have looked, Dallas, TX. Sean has been a huge motivator in accelerating the Krisoak movement.

Now that Krisoak is complete, we are steadily working towards completing a huge set of music to perform for all our fans, old and new! We are so excited about the direction Krisoak is taking, and we hope that you share that excitement by coming to our shows and supporting us with fist in the air and smiles on your faces.
