Krista Crommett

It is impossible to resist the sound of Krista Crommett, a Portland, Maine based chanteuse who, combined with her hauntingly soulful melodies and personal lyrics, captures your imagination and draws you slowly into her world from the first listen.
Originally from The Pine Tree State, Ms. Crommett spent her entire adult life away from Vacationland. She moved to NYC to study acting at NYU, but soon turned her attention to writing songs and singing.Krista fronted different rock bands, electronica outfits, and jazz ensembles. She gained experience at such venues as CBGB's and The Bitter End. Soon, however, a restless spirit and strong sense of wanderlust led her to Seattle, Ireland, and the beaches of Long Island. Her favorite review came from a passerby while she busked the streets in Galway, Ireland. He turned from walking past, almost to the next street, to call out "Fair play to ya!"
Nearly every experience along the way is reflected in her songs. Her debut album titled "Private Parade" explores universal themes of love, loss, and the grieving process with subtle beauty and sophistication. She touches on the nuances of change, the pain and regret that accompany a death (whether literal or in a relationship) and weaves the stories so that the listener wants to hear more- even if that means a certain amount of tears and heartache.
"Private Parade" is also a nod to the classic "chanteuse with a pianist" style.

"Krista Crommett's Private Parade" is the fully produced musical theater presentation of the album. It is a live performance complete with acting, monologues, singing, lighting and stunning visuals.
